Common anime fans are...generally not okay to hang around

As in, their personality is intolerable.  I can say this statistically that all of the people I befriended who've watched anime don't talk about anime.

I can back up that both of these are true.

The rule of watching anime is that you don't talk about it in public, lest you be grouped in with the undesirables.

Eh, they're good people at heart, but I had to associate myself with "the chick who wears cat ears in class and draws brown re-colors of that chick from Vocoloid", a couple of years ago because I wanted to buddy up to this chick I liked. I still see her in high-school, and felt like a horrible peson when I think "ORIGINAL CHARACTER DO NOT STEAL" every time I see her. I also used to be a member of an "un-offical anime club" in 7th-8th grade, and went through a "GlORIOUS NIPPON STAGE", I even used baka-gaijin as an insult. 

My most dire transgression is

I don't think I ever said this but DF kinda snapped me out of my weeaboo phase(or I just grew out of it).

The only way to truly fight spoilerous fiends is to get into contact with the creators of the show that was spoiled, and then convince them to officially alter canon so that the spoiler isn't a spoiler anymore!

I actually really like a lot of the people in my anime club, they are all really nice people. There are a few people that are crazy annoying, but I think that those generally annoying people exist wherever you go. Maybe. Maybe I'm just used to it. Even those people are generally good people, besides one person who scares the bejeebus out of me, said some horrid things to a friend of mine, and carries a switchblade around in school. Luckily he doesn't show up much any more.

Anyways, I get to do the Carameldansen and Lucky Star dance next week as an initiation with the Prez. Fun!

I was part of my school's anime club, but only for the last two years, because I'm really shy.
Those were pretty much the best years of my life right there.

I've always been rather reluctant to involve myself with real-life anime clubs and such, because it seems like almost every person I meet who is interested in it is the stereotypical self-insert writing, cat-ear wearing weeaboo who constant spouts gratuitous Japanese. I know maybe two people IRL who have an interest in anime beyond DBZ that aren't creepy fanatics about it. :|
