I was elected as my anime club's VP (the highest you usually can be without being a senior). Pretty awesome, already picking some anime with the President. This year is the year we will finally be watching Puella Magi Magica Madoka, I'm telling you.

I was the head of my high school's Japanese Culture Club.  The year before, twin girls had run the JCC and Anime clubs.  When the sisters graduated I took over and the clubs were united into one glorious whole.  My title was "Prince."

When I was a Senior in HS I finally heard announcements for an anime club.  Not that it mattered because

1.  I did not have the nerve to go there and
2.  Common anime fans are...generally not okay to hang around

As in, their personality is intolerable.  I can say this statistically that all of the people I befriended who've watched anime don't talk about anime.  And only the 1/3rd that do are actually cool people to talk with.

It's actually a little shocking when the topic does come up because a lot of people do have interest it just feels weird to talk about it.  Heck I have a hard time saying "anime" out loud.  And even then I could never share my extensive manga or VN library...

Although here's a funny story.  Back in the Fall 2011 semester I was reading the Fate/zero LNs in the library and one of my friends actually caught me in the act.  Obviously when I told him what it was he didn't know what it was but I know he's mentioned liking FMA a lot and that's cool with me.

I never seen an anime actually outright destroy my suspension of disbelief before.

EXCEPT maybe Saint Seiya and the Lost Canvas... with the guy who kept moving with every bone broken and no blood in their body.

Oh yes, also agreed. If you somehow get grouped into lots of anime fans, you can be sure someone will pester you with kawaiis and desus. Either that, or they'll tell you a lot of facts for things you didn't even ask about.

There are always people like that in all walks of life. I remember some of my responses to those who really overdo it are: "No, didn't know that anime factoid nor do I care", "Yes, I know she's the town bicycle...so?", "No, I don't give a damn who that movie star is currently having a fling with", "Who are you & how did you keep getting in my house?"

Anywho...just watched Hyouka. What's this? A locked door mystery with no one murdered? With a realistically simple & feasible explanation? With no random ordinary everyday guy with a knack for overly complicated impromptu plan to eliminate those who wronged them? In Anime Japan?

...Gotta' admit...it was rather refreshing actually.

The scene where Takumi repeatedly kills himself by running into the middle of traffic was...so emotional...his VA too...damn...some of these scenes will never leave me.

Houjou's fate sucks pretty hard.  At least now that I'm on the Ran route she doesn't actually explode.  Akashi and Houjou are definitely two of my favorite houses.  The true route is pretty grim for everybody though...can't forget Kou's suffering with Nobunaga either.
