If Lagann can just drill onto any mech it meets and take full control, why won't Simon head drill every single custom mech he comes across?

Sure, that would cut back the fight scenes turn the whole show into a massive steamroll so it's obvious why it doesn't work like that. But they could at least technobabble why it doesn't work more than once (so far).

Also got my hands on Starship Troopers OVA. Will probably watch it this week. Old school's the best school, hell yeah.

The ending to the boyband anime was kinda a mixed bag. It ended the way it was supposed to be it was rather anticlimatic.

Well, to do that he has to detatch from Gurren, and that would put them at a pretty bad disadvantage if he missed.

I just watched the first episode of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san. You know, that series where Nyarlathotep is a little girl. It wasn't terrible, in fact it rather amused me. It's really just a magical girlfriend show with the twist that the heroine is hardly heroic, although this is just the first episode.

What's there to say? It's a magical girlfriend series, except the magical girlfriend is Nyarlathotep. Oh sure, there's some backstory about how human entertainment is some of the best in the universe or something and that's why she's there to protect the male lead and fight a smuggling organization that smuggles both human goods and humans themselves, but it's not important. It's only the first episode anyway, all she's done so far is to beat up a couple of nightgaunts, transfer into the male lead's school and try to seduce him.

Next episode introduces Ctugha, who is apparently a flaming homosexual.

EDIT: Oh, and the male lead fends her off with a fork. Repeatedly. And whenever Nyarlathotep gets hit, she yells out the name of a random Zeonic MS/MA.
