I just finished watching Black Lagoon: Second Barrage. There's very few shows that capture my attention such that the moment I finish an ep, I immediately start up the next one. Any show like that immediately earns an automatic recommendation.

I mean, I kind of want to see what happens next. The ending is good and all, but it's really obvious that there's alot more development that the characters can receive.

Well, as far as I'm aware, the manga isn't finished. Apparently, the rest of the anime is being completed in a set of OVAs, so you might find what you want there.

Been reading Ai Yori Aoshi. I think I like Umi no Misaki more overall, but we'll see where this goes.

TIME TO RANDOMLY PLAY A VISUAL NOVEL TIME

Played a couple hours of Kara no Shoujo last night.  It was actually kind of fun and left good first impressions.

I'm totally playing more tonight.  Murder mysteries are the best.  I hear this game has multiple routes too.

I have two complaints though.
1.  Non-voiced MCs make me sad.
2.  Two of the early CGs were kind of lame.

Watching Sakura Wars TV after more than a year on the backburner. It's really hard to describe how much this show tickles me.

So I screwed up.  On March 18th I fail the investigation.  No matter what I do at that point I'm left with the choice to kill Takashiro or do nothing and still have everything ruined.  I think my string of failure started with Orihime's death.  It was pretty implied I could have gotten to know her better.  Afterwards well...dead dead dead.  Takashiro's wife getting killed seemed to be the breaking point.  Let me go back and successfully get Kusaka pin pointed.  I would be happy if Rokushiki gets involved somehow.

Always wanted to hear a translated cover of "Real Folk Blues" from Cowboy Bebop, if just to hear how people would do it.

Apparently, they could do it pretty well. That is a sexy tune.

EDIT: Apparently they're bringing back Lupin III in Japan too, with the first female director the series has had. Interesting!

So I thought I'd finish up Spice and Wolf before getting started on Sakura Wars. Now I remember why I put this down. I love the idea of an anime about economics and trading, but goddamn, it's like they made this show to be intentionally difficult to watch.

Nobody talks like a real person, every conversation is this grandiose exchange of quips and verbosity; Structured in such a way that it's deliberately hard to follow what the fuck everyone is talking about. It's so bad that the non-human character, who stylizes herself to be intentionally vague and mysterious, is more, well, HUMAN than the actual human characters, and she's still pretty bad.

And I know this is meant to be a little slower than your average show, but goddamnit is it SLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW. SOMETHING HAPPEN ALREADY! I know I just put down Black Lagoon, which had gunfights and whizbangexplosions in every single episode bar-none, but after a story arc it shouldn't take this long to get the newest plot on the rails and for shit to start happening again. Because, believe it or not, but listening to Lawrence's self-aggrandizing smugness, and Horo's holy-than-thou goddamn-smugness and the contrived sexual tension between the two, does not make for good entertainment.

It would seem if I want to cross this off my list, I'll have to endure this tortuous slog of intellectual depravity.
