While I was looking up Pokemon Special stuff, I wound up stumbling on what seems to be one of the strangest pokemon manga I've ever seen

As the Tvtropes page says, It's Digimon Frontier and Dragon Ball WITH POKÉMON!

So er... yeah I have no idea how or why this came into being, but it seems pretty interesting.

Rewatching Tatami Galaxy.

It's incredible how much more differently I see the characters. I might do another silly write-up about my opinions and thoughts about Tatami Galaxy, since I didn't make one, and that doesn't seem right because I seriously think that Tatami Galaxy might be my favorite anime series now.

I did end up finishing Madoka and Saya no Uta so hopefully PoI ends up being like Fate/zero.

On a side note, I have to admit Phantom of Inferno uses the strangest "game engine" I have seen so far.  Apparently the English translation decided to use...Windows Media Player.  I really am watching a movie now.  At least I can pause it.  Hope for the best anyway.  Nitro+ and all, wait that's not a good thing...

EDIT:
Holy shit this is awful.  Why can't they just us a normal actual game engine?  I mean it would be okay if the subtitles ACTUALLY APPEARED ON SCREEN MOST OF THE TIME.

Yeah add this to another 'play later' list I suppose.  Ah well.  I just wanted to test it out I guess.

Finished Madoka. I have no idea what to think, other than I would rate it pretty good. Definitely right around the correct number of episodes for it.

I think it could have been, like, one episode shorter. Maybe not even that much, but like...

Sayaka's fall in episodes 6-8 felt like it was just a little too long to me. I feel like 2.5 episodes would have been the correct amount for this whole part of the arc, but I've got no clue what else they would have put in that half an episode.

Anyways I'd give it a 10/10. Anyone who likes magical girl animes or horrible soul-destroying animes pretty much needs to see it.

Like I said, definitely right around the correct number of episodes. One-half of an episode isn't bad, even for a 12 episode series.

I agree with your feelings about Sayaka. It felt a little bit like it was being drawn out, but I feel as though the constant switch to Madoka and Kyubey helped.

I agree with your rating, though it's difficult for me to hand out perfect scores. This had everything though: Great art style, great production, great plot, good twists, and didn't hold any punches back. I never felt like I had my emotions ripped out of me (I wouldn't survive another Saikano), but it definitely tried to persuade the audience to sympathize or empathize with the characters. It's also a great deconstruction of the pseudo-genre (magical girls).

Small thoughts on Tatami Galaxy:

• Wonderful art style that is quirky, but expressive and distinct. Super colorful!
• Fun music that's usually really short, but fits the scene well.
• An odd style of dialogue. I was going to compare it best to Bakemonogatari or SZS, but watching Araragi or Nozomu feels like slow motion when it comes to talking. The inner dialogue of Watashi is lightning fast, and filled with fun thoughts.
• The odd dialogue lends itself to great voice acting.
• It never feels like there's "wasted" dialogue, which is impressive considering the sheer volume of talking.
  
• Incredibly fun characters.
• Great story buildup. The first three episodes gave me a completely incorrect impression of what kind of show that I was watching, making everything else a great surprise.
  
• Everything seems ridiculous, but it's a result of strange characters meeting strange characters. By the end, I accepted these oddities as if they were part of the only path the show could take.
• Unique humor that I don't see much in other anime.
• A great take on romance.
• Exhilarating climax.

Now that everything has become somewhat more settled it's all getting good.  Yet again I find myself enjoying the character named Shinji a lot, however Sugi and Yutaka and Shuuya and stuff are awesome in their own right.
