Finished Mirai Nikki and hmmm, the end felt a bit contrived. It felt like the mangaka was told to end his manga in a few chapters and he did his best but it still felt weird imo.

As for best villain, I would vote griffith from berserk.

Good endings are rare. Heck less then 1/10th of the animes I have watched have a good satisfying ending.

Code Geass. Most satisfying ending.

The ending made me so upset.  It could have went on and did so much cooler things.

It would have to be pretty good to be the "best". I mean, I've seen animes where the ending was so good that it actually managed to make the entire series better.

It needs to be a legitimate knockout and not a wimped unconscious or comedic knockout. (or rather it can't be something where the character acts so wimpy that they are knocked out from things that normally wouldn't... and it can't be done for comedic effect where a character is knocked out by something that normally wouldn't do so)

Example of Wimped Unconscious: Paris knocked out to Watergun in Pokemon

Aren't you breaking your own rules then with empty cardboard boxes?  :P

I've been hit unaware in the head by things a lot heavier then a cardboard box and don't even get dazed.

The person being knocked unconscious by Empty Cardboard boxes wasn't played for comedic effect AND wasn't because the main character was so "wimpy" that it suddenly knocked them out.

MIND you, it was because the art dirrection was so bad that when the boxes were later shown they were drawn empty.

Of course, I can only speak for myself, but the ending of CG was everything I wanted it to be. It was fulfilling, it tied plot points together, it followed the entire rest of the series, it accomplished a definite statement, and it made mention of the aftermath, all of which were well done.

Well, it had two endings. What I think was the ~actual~ ending.

And the obviously tagged on 'happy' ending to keep people from feeling too down. And I see why it's needed, the Otaku in Japan would have lost their shit if they got a downer ending.

But I mean, that whole story was a tragedy, that was the point.

Not anime, manga instead, but for endings, I think the best one I've seen so far was the "Lucifer and the Giant Biscuit Hammer" one. It ties pretty much everything up, and ends just on the right note.

The Hoshi no Samidare ending was so happy.  It was like Mirai Nikki's but not stupid.  If only Sengoku Youko felt like updating at some point...

Also Josh watch season 2 of Kaiji!  Kaiji is great.  Now, if Ace Attorney Investigations 2 got translated, Liar Game got off its hiatus, Kaiji scanlations started pumping out, then I'd be a happy little puppy.

I'm not even mentioning Umineko 8.  :P

Or Fate/hollow now.  NoooOOOOooOOOoOooooOOOooooooooooooo

EDIT:
Spoiler: Fate/Zero (click to show/hide)
Man Fate/Zero is so good.  I'm glad this will be the first LN series I finish.

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.
