I should clarify what I said earlier.

What I was trying to say was that because good endings are so rare it means you should hold them more dearly, and that ending an anime or manga is almost entirely seperate from writing it as a whole.

There are famos writers renown for their great writing... who couldn't write an ending if their lives depended on it.

Whoa... an anime where the first episode was amazing!?! WHERE!?!

I mean... So few animes actually have first episodes that force you right into the anime.

Just thought I'd post one recommendation from my "recent" viewings(I don't watch as much anime as I used to):
-Usagi Drop
Cutest anime ever on the struggles and joys of being a parent. Yep it's not your average mecha/action anime but it's very entertaining, cute, and makes you feel good about life :).

I haven't read the manga(only watched the anime) and from what I understand some people weren't happy with the direction the manga took, especially the ending.
As for anime(which is from the first part of the manga), *__* indeed!

I wish I had the time to make posts of Tsukihime like I did with Fate/stay night.  I really don't have the time now that my summer break has been over though.  ;_;  I looked back and I kind of enjoyed seeing myself react to everything in the game, oh well.

I'm quite a bit into the second route now.  Day 9.  DAY OF THE CICADAS

CHIRP CHIRP
CHIIIIIIIIRP

I'll read more Fate/zero tomorrow.  I'll probably finish another act of volume 2 hopefully.

So far Tsukihime has been alright.  Arcueid's route was okay.  Pretty simple and what I expected, but okay.  I think the second route is Ciel's since I've been seeing her a lot.  So far it has been very similar to the first route but with a few, better in my opinion, changes.  I'm enjoying it more.

That was a cool chapter.  I liked that.

Time for more Tsukihime now.

EDIT:
Starting day 11, holy shit.  I remember something like this vaguely in the manga but it's a different experience all together in the VN.  Gog damn.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The day is already starting off with the horror chord.

EDITX2:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Okay the second route is suddenly a lot better than the first route.

EDITX3:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Anyone have any animes they realise they liked quite a bit more after they finished?

I mean... As much as I had trouble with, for example, Yakkate Japan!!! (the !s are part of the title) I actually really enjoyed it. Sure the puns couldn't be translated, yeah it got dumb, it ignored many protagonists, and even in retrospect the ending was HORRIBLE... but I even now I remember more about what I liked about the series then what I didn't.

Mind you, not that I havn't watched series that weren't legitimately bad...

How about you?

What Anime, manga, or visual novel did you discover you liked a LOT more in retrospect rather then while you were watching?

Fate/stay night was relatively boring 60% of the time so when I look back on it I only remember the good parts and it's suddenly better.  Like, way better than I ever thought I would give it credit.  Higurashi was also only so-so until I was half way through the games when it suddenly just got a lot better.

Ace Attorney and Umineko were good for me the entire time.

I want Investigations 2.  D:<

Both Ghost in the Shell and Neon Genesis Evangelion.  Oh, and Earth Girl Arjuna, and Escaflowne... I didn't like any of those shows very much as I watched them, but they all grew on me substantially.

hey, can anyone explain me why japanese who sleep outside of a futon in their own homes get colds? like 99% of times? or get the "i might get a cold" thing?
are japanese nights really that cold?
it bugs me, i mean, in each manga, either you sleep at night in a futon, either you get a terrible cough-wrecking high feverish cold which knocks you out.
i mean, even adults get them.
i'm 20, but "colds" don't stop me from doing anything at all. I just sneeze a lot.
so...what's the deal? is it just italian resiliance, japanese weakness or what?
really...to kill the japanese someone should just steal there futons, then, they can sleep even in their houses with central heatings, but they will eventually die of colds...
