The early episodes of GITS: SAC are a bit weird... but they are needed to set the tone of the series, and to get you thinking in the right way.

Though the robo-geisha-house episode is a bit odd, even then. I've been rewatching the series as well, just got to the point where the Laughing Man becomes a more prominent feature of the plot.

The opening few minutes of the android suicide episode still make me laugh, though.

I know, right?

I liked the robo-geisha episode, though.

The bit of artificial gorn with the exploding bot's head was a real tone-setter for me.

Yui is starting to seem a bit creepy now.
I guess at least it's not a Colonel Sanders doll or something like that.
Man I just read that page right now.  Yui is the best.

I'd forgotten how funny this show is sometimes. I've laugh five times already and I'm only 8 minutes into this episode (the gold-collector one.)

The scene that immediately comes to mind when I think of GITS is where Batou is staring into the restroom at that guy at the urinal, then pulls him through the window.

Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.

After I finish Ever17 I'll probably do the required Tsukihime because I want to do it and it's Type-Moon's previous work.  I've already read like the first five volumes of the manga but that only follow one route and I just have to play the VN.  :P

The Carnival Phantasm OVAs look hilarious btw.  I'll watch the Garden of Sinners OVAs later too along with Tsukihime.

It seems I always do the future work before the previous work.  For 07th Expansion I played Umineko before Higurashi and for Type-Moon I played Fate/stay night before Tsukihime.  And it looks like Ever17 wasn't KID's first work either...I'm fine with that though anyway.

Gog there's so much stuff to do.  Still need to catch up in TWGOK, new chapter today too.

Current (main) Anime:  uuh Steins;Gate I guess, I'm starting to watch the F/sn anime as well just because it's fun to do that after doing the VN work.
Current (main) Manga: Kami-nomi
Current (main) Light Novel: Fate/zero
Current (main) Visual Novel: Ever17

Why did I go to college.

Yeah, speaking of Kami-nomi.  It has been getting really good recently.  The first I'd say six volumes set up the story nicely, then around volume ten shit starts getting real and now where I am (volume 14 I think) shit is going down haremcore.  I'll watch the anime later as well.  Dem OPs man.

Later...stuff for later...always...later...BEG FOR YOUR LIFE SHINJI MATOU

I'm exhausted.  I'm juggling too much real life with fiction life.

Ah, I played Tsukihime quite a while back.
After I finished it I tried to do a different path but kept dying so I gave up.

Oh dear.  Do you die more in Tsukihime than in Fate/stay night?  That would be a crazy record.

I'm impressed.

As you attempt to ask Hawkfrost a question you look down to see a blade sticking through your chest.  Is that supposed to be there?

I took a break from Kaiji and watched the 7th Detective Conan movie: Crossroad in the Ancient Capitol.

I tend to like the DC movies more than the series, because even though they're non-canon (except with eachother, oddly enough), cool, fun things happen very consistently, and there's the illusion that pivotal, important progress is being made, rather than in the series which is dead set on the occasional inconsequential plot point every 50 episodes, and then filled to the brim with (often very dull) filler inbetween those.

I mean, seriously, it took TWO HUNDRED episodes for the most major side character, Ai Haibara, to even join the cast. That's the most relevant thing that I know happens in the four hundred something episodes that I've seen, and everything else is the status quo being preserved at all costs.

It's something I like to refer to as "Final Fantasy X-2 Syndrome" where something would ordinarily be very enjoyable, but the experience is marred by the most heinous, obvious flaws. I want to enjoy the story and the characters of DC, but no progress ever gets made. It's disheartening, intolerably so.

The most recent Steins;Gate episode was, in a word, awesome.
We are now one episode away from completion.
I urge anyone who hasn't picked this show up yet to do so.
And people thought Madoka would be anime of the year... HRUHAHAHAHAHA.
Sounds fun.  I'll be watching it with Leafsnail (yes you) tonight.  God's hand.

This is why I read three volumes of DC and then stop and wait a few months.  Keeps everything fresh and I save time!

The anime is chock full of cases that never happened in the manga, leading me to suspect that there's lots of padding going on to keep the series running for much longer.

The manga progresses much faster too. I mean, by Volume 42

Something happens only by volume 42?  Geez that's a shock.  I read it for the awesome insane murder schemes and not much else.

Two words, string crossbow.

Ditto. The entire thing is pretty much an Excuse Plot for "Japan is populated with psychopaths, minors bring them to prison. Also, kittens."

But eh, plot-advancing stuff happens all the time. About once every half a dozen volumes or so. That example was just the closest they ever came to a conclusion.
