EDIT:
The people near the top of the screen, with their colored boxes, remind me of the trainer versus screen in the newest Pokemon games when a trainer battle is initiated.
Imagine the possibilities. GUNMEN ARE NOW POKEMON.
I would totally watch that.
Halfway through Ergo Proxy, liking it more and more.
The mindfuck episodes so far rival the Dollhouse scene in Ghost in The Shell 2 for pure weirdness and awesome.
You know, now that I think of it, you're right. The mindfuck episodes of Ergo Proxy definitely rival the Dollhouse.
Oh that's right. I watched the first Ghost in the Shell movie a while ago. Is the sequel good?
I was somehow mislead when I recorded it. I thought that Ghost in the Shell = Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. They are just based on the same thing, the style appears a lot different.
GitS2 is very, very well animated. One of the best animated movies I've seen, with very good CG as well.
The story... well...
This is my summary of it.
Some sexbots go rogue and start killing people. Cue Section 9 investigation. 1/3 to 1/2 way through the movie, when the basis of the plot has been established and some action goes down, begin quoting obscure literature that has nothing to do with the plot. Such quoting of literature now dominates 90% of all dialogue henceforth. Any non-quoted dialogue is now a psychological analysis on an aspect of society that has little to do with the plot (YET THE PLOT STILL ADVANCES LOGICALLY). Cue horrible Asian turn-off music forever, more quoting, less dialogue, then all action, action, action, action, action, end.
What the characters are saying and what is actually going on in the movie split somewhere and take wild turns. The movie was still enjoyable, but it would have been SOOO much more enjoyable if it was in the same style as S.A.C. rather than "WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN!? WHY ARE YOU EVEN SAYING THAT!? HOW IS THAT A QUOTE!?"
