Fate/Stay Night is quite decent.
Nothing too engrossing, but interesting enough to keep me watching.
The MCs attitude can be a bit annoying, though.

Thank you for the suggestions about anime about magic.
But I'm afraid it's not quite what I'm looking for. I'd like to see something less flashy and more serious.

Rozen Maiden does look kind of interesting (also I'm curious about the origin of a certain meme). Anybody has watched it?

The story wasn't too interesting for me, but the dolls are really cute (although Hinaichigo largely annoyed the shit out of me). Suiseiseki's antics are quite funny sometimes, too. It was fine to watch but I didn't find it to be anything amazing.

My roommate informs me that Rozen Maiden is actually a fairly decent show, although his tastes are flaky and inconsistent, so it's hard to tell if he's recommending something great or something terrible but he appreciates on a grand scale due to the entertainment he receives from it appealing to some bizarre niche of his.

For instance, his favorite anime is arguably Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan, but I revile it since it's basically comedic pornography. Pornography, in the sense that I'm using it, meaning anything that appeals to a base desire and having no other merits.

Rozen Maiden is fine but I will say that it is a rather "all over the place" sort of show.

It can be very silly when it wants to, and it can be very creepishly serious at times as well.

While I personally think the show is at its best when it is in the height of its style... its "comedy" episode is actually downright hillarious and actually one of my favorite episodes (if not my absolute favorite)

The only problem I can give is that

In my next installment of Higurashi Kai (since I didn't really discuss When They Cry 1 (or WTC3-4 for that matter)), but that's okay since I have When They Cry 2 to do as we delve deeper into the mysterious of Hinamizawa in the greatest game/-hen yet!
Ooo...I wrote too much and it's like really late for school tomorrow.  Oh well I finished Tsumihoroboshi!  Yeah!  Time for Minagoroshi now!  There's always more for the When They Cry series!  Always more!!!

EDIT:
Apparently Minagoroshi means 'massacre; annihilation; wholesale slaughter'.

My guess is that they were hoping for a third season. For shows that have a manga with an ongoing story, I prefer no ending to a badly done anime only ending. It's weird that it never did get a third season, considering how popular it became. Not to mention it is the perfect anime to sell merchandise of, being a show about dolls.

In unrelated adorable news, I'm catching up with Suite Precure. I totally forgot about it since I was too busy hurfing a durf over other shit that was airing, plus I decided to marathon Karin for no particular reason.

I've heard about Tenchi Muyo.

Isn't that the one where this Japanese guy becomes the object of affection for various beings of immense power that happen to look like humans or summat?

Anyways, I done watched myself some NGE again...

why do i do this to myself

Yeah, that's pretty much true. I enjoyed it, and it's a pretty cool universe (Just don't watch the spin-offs like GXP or whatever, because those are stupid).

Are you almost done with NGE? Maybe you can move onto End of Evangelion or the Rebuild series.

Also, Vector, have you watched the Rebuild series yet?

@Chaoswizkid:

When I watched EoE, I shed many a manly tear.

When everyone started dying I was like 'fuck noooo'

I think the worst one for me was
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
But
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
was even worse.

RoE was a lot better, although the constant name changes for Asuka Langely Shinikami is odd. Can't wait for three.

Is it just me or is Mari a parody of the classic Self-Insert/Mary Sue we tend to see in fanfiction? I mean she seems like a Sue but I really like her "ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK" doctrine and her fixation with smell which is more than a little creepy in my book.

Also, Rei is so adorable in RoE. She's my favorite character after Shinji (and Gendo) ;-;

I was like 'bluuuuuuh' during both movies. I feel so bad for her... ;-;

@Patchouli:

Don't worry about this poor stupid fucker. Just give me several hours of mind-numbing wanton violence against the random citizens of New Austin and Northern Mexico, I'll be fine. If that doesn't work I'll probably go watch Tenchi Muyo and then MGLN (someone told me it was pretty cool).

Would you more learned forumites point me in the right direction for said series, eh? Apparently MLGN is about magic shit and little girls kicking other little girl's asses and shit like that.

EDIT: I'll also watch K-ON!!!, Haruhi Suzumiya (sp?), Azumanga Daioh and then Lucky Star.

It'll be therapy for my poor scarred brain/heart/soul

Well, there was actually a dispute with the manga and it got delayed (and ultimately cut very short).  The anime therefore just had to kindof make up a resolution in the last few episodes.  The manga ending is even more rushed and deus ex machina-y apparently.

You should see Mirai Nikki's ending, it will make you want to murder people.

Yeah, first two movies.  I guess I like it a bit better now than I did, but I still really prefer the original at the moment.  Surprisingly enough, I even prefer the art... I feel like something was lost in conversion to modern animation.  A bit of grit or somesuch.

In any case, I'll probably keep watching it until the end.

How "well done" is Umineko as an anime? Finished Higurashi Kai and Rei anime sometime ago and I've seen the 1st season a long time ago but missed a lot of episodes but I still enjoyed the series overall. Since I haven't played the VN's yet, will I be able to enjoy it enough in it's adapted form as well? Or fans who've played the source material too distracted by alterations/changes?

Also started to rewatch Scrapped Princess again cuz' I know I've also missed some episodes...

Also just finished reading volume 1 of Sword Art Online...daaayymmnn...anime adaptation please.
