Just finished watching episode 14 and realized that there isn't another season...
Damn!

Huh, why is Kyon such an awesome guy?
Is it the look on his face? His attitude? The way he doesn't give a damn?
Hmm, probably makes it to the top of my personal favorites of anime characters and takes the "I wanna be that guy" position.

Anyway, does the manga add additional depth/content to the plot?
Because the TvTropes does suggest some interesting additions. However, they might as well occur in the novels or the movie.

That's what I say after every harem anime ever.

I really liked the ending to excel saga. I can't remember exactly what it entailed, but I remember liking it.

Do you mean the episode that was purposefully too obscene and vulgar to be shown on Japanese television? Or do you mean the episode immediately before that one?

(oh, and speaking of Excel Saga, does anybody else think that Excel's voice in the English dubbed version actually seems to fit the character much better than the original Japanese acting)

I think the problem was that it was a minute too long.

That's not what they claim on the DVD.

It is Excell Saga... would you REALLY be surprised if they said it was "Too vulgar" and "Too Obscene"?

I mean... Illbleed is a Japanese Horror Comedy and it says it is so scary it will make you PUKE!

So yeah, the High School of the Dead OVA was MAJORLY disappointing.

For an anime with plenty of suspense and action, the OVA had not one zombie until maybe 2 minutes before the end of the episode..and said zombies were just in place to further the hilarity/sex appeal of the OVA.

The entire OVA was pretty much a cute guy in a speedo and lots of boobies. And a hallucinogen. And it all went downhill from there.

And then at the end, where they usually give you the episode #? It's titled "Act ♂♀".

There was an announcement somewhere of a second season of HSoD coming out in 9/2011. That's awesome :)

Reached the legendary band scene in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
That should bring me through the rest of this day.
Huh. Never bothered paying much attention to the animation of that scene before, but they do a remarkably good job syncing the finger motions on the guitars to the music. That's kind of nifty. They must have used footage of people actually playing the song for reference.

I netiehr watch the show, nor play guitar, but the closeups of the fingers do look distinctly better quality than the rest.

If I had to guess, I'd think they filmed the song being played, and traced over the hands.
