I'm currently looking into an obscure anime I've found, called "Underground Chocolate", a miniseries revolving around the Japanese government making chocolate and pastries illegal, and so little speakeasy-esque shops open up in that sell the chocolates to outlaws with sweet toothes.

I can only hope that there is a crime syndicate ran by a chocolatey Al Capone, smuggling sweets across provincial lines.

So just for the hell of it, I rewatched My Neighbor Totoro. Such an amazingly good movie.

Also, got my hands on the Nausicaa manga due to some people lauding it as being exceptional and awesome, which I don't doubt.

I'm a big kid, I almost invariably get teary eyed when reading Nausicaa.

I think I'm sort of burnt out on anime.

I find myself rewatching the same stuff over and over.

Pretty much the only anime I'm looking forward to is REDLINE. I'm hoping will be so colorful and over-the-top, that my brain will be a scrambled mess afterwards.

At the very least, it's got an incredible OST.

Rewatched Lucky Star last night. Yep, all of it (whilst doing coursework, obviously)...Episode 22 is So sad, but in that good way ^^

So just for the hell of it, I rewatched My Neighbor Totoro. Such an amazingly good movie.

Really? Hmmm. I avoided watching the movie because I thought I would need to be Japanese to appreciate it fully (like "Its Japan" and its puns... its many many puns)

I guess it means the movie is up for grabs now.

While Mr. Miyazaki's works are slathered in obscure Japanese folklore and myths, knowledge of such is by no means necessary to fully appreciate them.

Also, I wouldn't say that there's that many puns in his works. I cannot name one off the top of my head, that's how rare they are.

Witch Hunt has changed the status of episode 8 on their news page.  Now it's:
"Episode 8
Translation: 55%

Any day now the 1st half patch will be out now.  It's making me restless, but I have game 5 of Higurashi to play right now so it's fine.

I know it is just an example as to why "Its Japan" (manga and anime) was hard to approach because a lot of its humor is puns which cannot be translated into anything but Japanese.

I dunno... if you have a really creative translation/ localization it's generally possible.  I mean, if it's possible to translate La Disparition from French to English without adding in any "E"s, then it's possible to mix up a few puns.
