That's not bad at all. You must be getting a good dl speed. Guess it's not surprising since One Piece is so popular.

Pieta is fucking great by the way. (goes back to reading it)

When I return to school on Monday, I have to decide what me and my roommate will be watching if all the pieces fall into place and no body fucks up their part of the bargain.

The TTGL movies are queued first as a mandatory, non-negotiable anime agreement we have going on, but then what? Choices are limitless, but I'm arbitrarily limiting them to series which are fairly short, a full 26 episode season at the most, and things which aren't overly serious because my roomie doesn't respond well to anything serious or depressing in the slightest.

He's also a giant pansy, so anything involving deep, loving romances are also out of the picture because then it'll incite some more rants about his ex-girlfriend.

Anyone know a good sports anime that isn't Prince of Tennis?

I have nothing against Prince of Tennis but for some reason I just can't bring myself to watch it. It is like it has an anti-Neonivek forcefield or something.

I liked Whistle!, myself.  Only read the first book, but I liked it quite a bit.

Nothing serious? How about Narutaru.

Hahaha, god no.

Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei is pretty hilarious. Puni Puni Poemi? Genshiken? Comic Party? Yeah, you've basically ruled out any suggestion I could give with "not serious, no romance."

Oh god. Vandread. More people need to have been subjected to that.

Puni Puni Poemi?

Is this the comedy one set after Excell Saga?

Because that one was plain awful!

Well, as a bit of a gaming break from Steam, I'm probably going to work on the next arc of 1P. I mean, might as well clear out 1-50 since I already seeded that to it's (well, mine actually 1.5 (takes long enough on it's own)) limit anyway. I think that's a good system to use for the transfer/gather that'll be most space-efficient.

Lupin III was my first. The comedy and brilliant executions of the heists made the show. The dubbed version was especially well done with the writing (and more recent references). Actually, that was the first anime that got me interested in anime in the first place.

We watched Puni Puni Poemi, and it's not half-bad if you want something that's really trippy. He still references the "Bitch can't stay in character" line every now and then.

And he's a fan of Vandread and has tried to convince me to watch it, but the premise sounded outright retarded, an assumption fortified after watching the first episode, so I've been reluctant to even give it a chance.

I'll have to keep the other ones in mind thing, since I haven't seen anything else in that short list, and I'm sure he hasn't either.

Don't

Actually, it's not that bad. It's just really stupid and fanservicey.

Don't actually get him to watch Narutaru, I was joking, joking so hard. If you do, he will probably never watch anime again.

I'm sure you got this already, but I would feel really bad if you didn't.

Hey, I have a friend with something similar.  My "2 rules for a series I watch" still stand.
