I think its more along the lines of killed the anime.  Seeing as they tried to wrap up the Priscilla vs Clare thing that was inevitable from the beginning...

Maybe they'll do a FMA:B sort of thing once they finish the manga.  Because that was just awful.

Hmm.  A coworker is after a good vampire-based anime.  Apparently her normal thing is Naruto and Bleach and stuff (and Supernatural for non-anime stuff).  Any recommendations?  (Also, I'd recommend Hellsing to her, but I can't remember which is the good one and which is the TRULY AWFUL one)

I'd recommend "Blood: the last vampire". Not the series("Blood+" was it called?), the short movie.
Bloody, gritty, intense, and no-nonsense(as far as it's possible in a vampire movie).

Well while not Anime, but honestly making a seperate thread would be too bulky, I was watching the new Avengers show...

And the show within a show seemed to be "The Child Abuse show" as it seems to feature nothing but a fully grown adult beating a child over and over and over again (they are also Fish).

I have to say it is rather refreshing to watch a show where the main character isn't an invincible unbeatable character. For the most part while powerful even the main character, who is around the most powerful character in the series, is around the weakest of the characters he fought so far. Having only two curb stompingly good victories.

Mind you the anime so far isn't what I'd call good... It also has one of most annoyingly loud characters in a non-comedy anime ever. Honestly she has been asked basic questions and then suddenly started yelling at the top of her lungs.

Finally finished watching Escaflowne.

The first two thirds or so of the series had lots and lots of awesome moments, and I really enjoyed it. The enemies were enigmatic, creepy, and weird, which is always fun. But I kind of feel like the last third or so of the show was rushed, and it wasn't nearly as good. I was very confused as to why exactly the world was being destroyed, and suchnot, and had no idea what was actually going on for a couple episodes. I liked that they didn't try and pair all the main characters off with each other romantically at the end, though. I guess that's not really even a spoiler since the little intro line at the beginning seems to imply that the protagonist is back on earth already, but anyway. Made for a better ending than the standard 'happily ever after' would have.

Anyway, fun stuff. I think I'm going to dig around and see if I can't find some more old anime to watch. I like the feel of some of the older animation and storytelling.

I haven't watched very much of it, but Trinity Blood seems pretty good.
