I think Ichigo's dad is gonna be captain of Squad 0, call in the others. Kick ass, then get their asses kicked, makeing a need for Ichigo to save the day by pulling new powers right out of his syphincter. Then we're going to get some reveil about who or what is the true ruler of soul society, for some insane reason I get the feeling it has to do with Ichigo's mom >.>

They had desires?
They just eat to fill the hole in their souls. In the first season I think Grand Fisher said that...since they are grumpy and lonely, they have a hole in their soul, and eating other souls makes them feel better about it.

Eating to fill in their souls sounds like a desire.

The Evolved Hallows should be evident enough that the Hallows are based heavily off of a specific kind of ghost (that I forgot the name of) in mythology/philosophy

This is the way I've seen it with hollows.
When they first form they are still, mostly, themselves only with a limitless hunger for souls and anger towards their loved ones(its stated those are their first victems).
After they have fed a bit they lose more of themselves, still somewhat intelligent but not very.
Then shortly before the 'feeding frenzy' that makes them menos grande they are basicly nothing but wild animals.
Menos Grande are wild animals.
The exception to this being Adjudace class hollows, who managed to retain their strengh of will as they became a Grande.
Adjudace and Vasto Lorde have most of their minds but have to feed still to survive.
Shinigamification takes away that need, the desire is still there, but the need is not.
