 That summary of Yoko rather well sums up Gurren Lagann, There are some flaws and some things are not perfect by any means, some things downright cringe worthy in there. But the FOIGHTING SPIRAAAAAAT outshines it all in such a manly explosion of WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK ALL OF US ARE?!!! that outshines all the bad bits.

 Also, that is awesome in every conceivable way. Except for Simone in drag. Although it does make up for it with the line "Don't even think of talking to my daughter until you have changed out of that damned dress." And King Kittan Motorcycle.

 Hmm, Kittan actually looks a lot like the TF2 Sniper here.

I've recently started really liking anime. First i watched Death Note which was great until L died then it just wasn't as good :/
Currently im in the process of watching Pumpkin Scissors and Soul Eater. I plan on starting on Naruto and Naruto shippuden but im waiting until i finish Pumpkin Scissors (12 episodes left of it)

The only other anime ive watched in full is Outlaw Star which is another one i like.

Deathnote the anime series left out half the magna in a sense. After L dies, the magna goes into a loo momenet but ends rather strongly going back to its xantos speed chess cat and mouse game.

Outlaw star is great!

Even the complete fan service episode is not without point.

I started watching Soul Eater, and I'm really enjoying it.

YuYu Hackusho is a great anime of the shonen fame.

There also the biggest daddy of them all: Dragonball, and Dragonball Z. I personally don't like GT, or the Boo saga of DBZ.

Since I'm looking into some older series I missed before, I'll ask, of these series, do you prefer dubs or subs? (In terms of voice acting and censorship)

Seriously, L's death is pretty awesome if it hasn't been spoiled for you before.

And the manga was still ok after L's death, where the anime did take a turn for the worst.  Eh.

Of the above, I prefer the dubs for Trigun and Hellsing.
Hellsing's are really well done and the Japanese seriously butcher the English names in Trigun, making it nearly unwatchable in my opinion.

There is absolutely no shortage of fan service in non-anime media, it just tends to be less visual and exaggerated. But the number of completely pointless relationships thrown into movies because nobody thinks their plot can stand on its own is ridiculous...

Someone asked if there were any good anime still coming out, and I just wanted to throw out there that the four-part Neon Genesis Evangelion movie series is still going strong. Remastered though somewhat rewritten, it's still all-out NGE. As for the fanservice convo, NGE definitely had some, but any that it had was simply doused in psychological depth, making it rather tasteful... Except for the one "thermal expansion" episode, but that was just funny IMO (Maybe the only thing that can be considered funny in the entire series).
