Minami-ke is hilarious at parts, mostly those involving Hosaka. The animation is a little wonky sometimes, but I'd recommend it.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to check it out.  It looks like something I'd love.

 From what I've seen my sister watch on this Japanese news program that tries to display Japanese culture, the dudes who specialize on their craft are rather well like that. I saw a dude like that over ceramic fortune cats, and another giving deep spiritual meaning to how he works at creating traditional clothes, and how it helps the average Japanese family. So yeah, I was a little more perplexed at why the dude was on a mountain in the first place than amused at the outburst.

 And artificial laughs burn my very soul.

I think there was a rule about not being able to control someone for over 23 days (yay for arbitrary numbers).  Unless it's a slowburn cause of death... so maybe...

Nope. The maximum possible delay between writing the name down and death is exactly 28 days. You can make the target do almost anything within that time period, however.

I think I remember that as long as it is within reason (couldn't send money specifically to someone they don't know or grow wings and crash into the sun) you can pretty much get them to do whatever you want. Remember the early episodes when he was testing it out on prisoners?

You can get them to do anything that it is possible for them to do. For example, he tried to make a prisoner draw L's face, but it did not work because the prisoner did not know what L looks like. He could make the poems with the message to L, because from the prisoner's perspective, he was just writing some random poem.

How the hell does Chad have Hollowish powers? I get it's from being around Ichigo, but Ichigo didn't have his holofication when Chad and Orihime got their powers. I am confused.

Also, the latest episodes I have watched have too many flashbacks. "You know what I'm talkin' about?"

judging by half the members avatars on here, I take it the majority like anime.  I'm not a fan myself.  I like Akira, and Trigun, but that's about it really.  Cowboy beebop isnt bad either.  Japanese anime is just too flashy and overstylish for my tastes I guess...

 Kinda the opposite for me. I can't stand most anime because it doesn't go far enough beyond the impossible without resorting to some lame tropes. I need combustion of manly souls going beyond the impossible for it to appeal to me. And the pacing actually needs to be good. And lacks space-filling frames of the characters being shocked.
