FMA: Brotherhood is a weird combination of humor and drama, mostly drama.

Dammit, Episode 4's ending was depressing.

It is odd - the level of seriousness takes massive swings from episode to episode, and even scene to scene.  I guess this is true of pretty much every anime I've watched though.

So after rewatiching Code Geass and Ergo Proxy, I really need another anime.
I have a lot of work to do at the moment, which is tied together with a lot of stress and relaxing with an episode has become in essential in my studying.

I need something deep, sad and meaningful, something that makes you think about it, even afer you finished watching it, something that's asking the viewer philosohical question, without giving away the answer.
I know that's much to ask, but is something out there that could cover what I'm looking for?

Well, Ghost in the Shell deals with a lot of philosophical questions. Not sure if you could call it sad, though.

I believe she was genetically engineered, so the emissary program was set into her DNA.

I found that out when they were talking about how beastmen don't have the love that makes the universe go.

But still, when would the anti-spirals get the chance to genetically engineer her? After Genome abandoned her?
