Russian lesbian space bunnygirls who fire ultra-extreme homing arrows are random but cool.

Like, seriously. The shot that goes down a hallway, around a few pillars, through two locks and then chokes two people to death and drags off the bodies is both totally badass and amazing, and completely ridiculous.

I feel like they escaped from some other show.

Funnily enough, Code Geass was recommended to me A LOT before I randomly decided to watch it under my own steam.  So... yeah.

Weird, the second series feels kinda genre switched.  And apparently whoever writes the genres on this site agrees with me.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni:
Genre: Comedy, Mystery, Drama, Horror, Psychological, Thriller

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai:
Genre: Mystery, Drama, Psychological, Thriller

And is it just me or is it a bit of a low blow to have an apparently happy ending and then KILL EVERYONE OFF SCREEN?

Well, not EVERYONE died. Just almost everyone.

And I agree with the horror, but when was it ever a comedy?
I always saw the light-hearted school moments as a way to contrast the crazy stuff that happens shortly afterwards.

Personally I felt at first that the second season had ruined the series for me, until I got further into it. There is one moment forever burned into my heart as pure actual epicness.

iirc, they hint that he's sustaining her with spiral energy (spiral energy does whatever you want it to, so it's a reasonable assumption if they don't hint at it) and we already know that using too much spiral energy will result in the spiral nemesis.

Yeah, comedy was always a bit of a stretch.  The whole idea was the basic principle of "start normal if you want it to be horrifying".

And you can't act on personal grudges in man hunt!  That way madness lies!

(And I speak as someone whose games of manhunt generally involved tackling the person you were catching to the floor before converting them).

Before she met Euphie, she was simply afraid of the Japanese. Witness her reaction to Suzaku. That fear got much worse after a group of them nearly killed her. She didn't seem too crazy until Euphie became the "Genocide Princess"
