Isaac and Miria from Baccano! just had a cameo in the latest episode of Durarara!! I guess it makes sense, given they're immortal and such, and it takes place in the same universe. Made my night though.

Also started watching Kino no Tabi, which I just love despite it being slow, largely allegorical, and suspiciously low-budget-looking. It's just enthralling for no good reason at all.

Kino no Tabi is one of my favorites... went out and bought all the light novels, and everything =)  Tell me what you think when you finish.

I'm watching CardCaptors, and had a hilarious thought.

Did Clow Reed (the great wizard who made the Clow Cards and the Key to use them) use that flipping awesome key to use the cards?

He'd look so cute!

I could never watch Card Captor Sakura. I felt too sorry for Tomoyo.

Link related.

Nice. Pity they didn't throw a "Sekasu Mashin" in at 2:00.

Also, having just about finished El-Hazard, I'm not sure if I would recommend it or not. The first OVA was a good Alice In Wonderland style adventure, with sharp animation, a few nice characters, etc. It felt like it could have been concluded there, but they put out a second OVA that was terrible... and a mediocre TV show retelling of the first story, with a bastardized version of the first OVA's story. The third OVA actually was better, but the artwork was less sharp (and it lost the pseudo-tech feel in exchange for a more fantasy atmosphere), and the characters started showing their lack of development. I've only gotten halfway through the third OVA, though, so we'll see.

It's definitely not a bad one, by any means... but it's plays heavily into the whole "harem" thing ala Tenchi Muyo... a bit insipid, and most of the non-essential characters tend to be rather flat.

Yeah, the manga was terrible--didn't want to tell you that the Casanova type being lesbian is an extremely common trope, either.  Didn't know the anime was unfortunate too, though... in fact, I had no idea they made one.

On that note, no one should ever watch Dual.  It's hideous.  I refuse to watch any show wherein the robots have high heels :I

Just started reading Toriko. It's a manga about food but it's good. Just a heads up for anyone who is bored.

Dual? As in Parallel Universe Trouble?

I started watching Darker then Black. I like it, though the AMV I saw it in made it seem cooler. 8/

I love Kino's Journeys.
Seconded.

"Yokohama shopping trip" and "Mushishi", being in the same vein of slow introspectivensess - while nonetheless powerful and moving - and similarly high quality, are to be recommended too.

That was one of my first animes.
The premise is rather different.

Also, Haji is king.

DTB is a show that gets it right, unlike many others.
Stuff just keeps getting more and more awesome the further on you get.

Spoiler: Spoil-y stuff! (click to show/hide)
