I was watching the first episode of Naruto (dubbed).

OH GOD HIS VOICE IS SO ANNOYING!

That's why I never watched it.

That's your only reason?
Heehee.

As well as the drawn out story, overall meh quality, and other such reasons.

It's a pretty valid reason.

I tried watching it when it first came out.
Never held my attention and the fights reminded me of DragonBall Z, only with added NINJAZ.
The characters are nothing like real ninjas at all (Major thing that annoyed me).

Oh well.
Back then I still had Fullmetal Alchemist.

You need some El-Hazard in your entertainment regimen. It's like someone took the cool post-apocalypseness of Nausicaa, the world-hopping of Escaflowne, mashed it up with the silliness and insipid catfighting of  Tenchi Muyo, and threw in some 1001 Arabian Nights for flavor. Holy carp, so much awesome.

I mean, hell, they wear living armor made out of talking rubbery cats with mohawks, there's an alcoholic who gains super-strength by being sober, the "Womanizing Cassanova" archetype is a lesbian instead of a dude, and the main character is dressed in drag for most of the entire thing. There's bug people, and city-crushing robots, and giant fuzzy penguins that go "bum-ba-bum-ba-bum" as they walk, and amidst all of this it manages to have a rather serious storyline, which is somehow appropriate in ways I can't explain!

You can't get more terribly awesome than that, no sir.

EDIT: If you do catch it, it's one of the few animes I'd say is actually better to watch dubbed in English rather than in the Japanese subs. The voice acting was really well done, and the voices fit the characters very well.

Just checked out a couple episodes of Galaxy Angel while checking out El-Hazard. Despite it being 10 mins./episode, it does have it's highlights. Pretty funny.
