Spoiler: Ninja Generator (click to show/hide)
Oh god... this is so awesome.
Spoiler: Mecha (click to show/hide)

Hmm, I'm beginning to suspect some series have been written using this...

The martial art move generator is awesome too. "Flip of the Astral Destroyers", heh.

Started to watch Ergo Proxy.

And after a few episodes I have to say it's great.
Kinda reminds me of Equilibrium.

In a hellish future world a tough fighting girl with inexplicable attachment to cloyingly cute Japanese schoolgirl must fight evil opposite number while alien armada overcomes '50's monster movie style resistance and destroys the world and everyone lives happily ever after.

The End

Another one sounded a lot like the plot of GitS.

In outer space a young brooding hero accidentally finds battlesuit/combat mecha and must fight crazed army officer while nearly missing big date.
Quote
In Feudal Japan a young brooding hero travels on an eternal quest, acquiring one/two loyal companions while seeking vengeance for planetary population and does battle with evil demon psychic overlord and his lieutenants and triumphing, moves on to the next installment.
Quote
In the sprawling metropolis of Neo/Mega Tokyo a young brooding hero accidentally falls victim to bestowal of dangerous superpowers and is thus brought into conflict with secret society bent on world domination and suffers the torments of the damned; sequels appear with diminishing frequency and eventually stop entirely.
I especially like the "fate of the series" part :P.

Heh, it's great indeed(and Pino redefines the word "cute"), even though at times it just tries too much to be smart.
It's a good show for jaded anime veterans, I suppose.
I'd say, if you like this sort of cerebral dystopias, try Texhnolyze when you'll have a chance.

Thanks for the tip.
I'll look into it as soon as I'm done with Ergo Proxy.

The way it adresses common cyberpunk issues (What is a soul and can artificial beings posess one? Is it right to enslave mankind to ensure its survival? And can such an existence still be called life? And many, many more...) is quite interesting.
The bookstore scene in episode 11 was brilliant.
So the "smart way" in which it presenst itself sometimes, doesn't seem contrived to me.

Now my friend has me watching Umineko no Naku Koro ni.

Wow.

One question about Bleach...

does Ichigo ever learn Kidou? Because that would be the show really awesome, as it is currently only awesome.

Nope.

In fact, Aizen and Byakuya are the only characters that ever use Kidou even remotely effectively. And only Aizen uses it as a weapon in and of itself, rather than a way to support his sword techniques.

EDIT : OH GOD NEVER MIND. Shizuo just punched the clothes off a dude.
