Uh let see. My foggiest memories tell me I started to adopt this spelling because the k was closer translation then the ch, as I recall japanses doesn't have a ch use, but has a k.

The ch spelling was popularized and accepted as the defacto spelling. I contend that neither is wrong. I do know that I am in a wii minority.

Well, meka would be closer to the Japanese, but it's based on the English word "mechanical" anyway, so...

Sensible? There is no such thing. It's just a sliding scale between ridiculously disproportionate to unhumanly freakishly disproportionate.

Well, I've been watching Anime for about 18 years. Right now I see two or three movies a year, and one or two series a year. Its really waned in recent years. I enjoy cartoons.

Baccano! Prohibition Era Anime set in America following several groups of people and a train going to New York. It's really amazing.

I won't spoil it too much, but the writing is pretty clever, and there are some great twists. Also it doesn't shy away from some violence.
