Still watching persona

I do have to say that now their "speeding through the tarots" is NOW starting to be a detriment. The first time they did it, it was disapointing but honestly it was a really good episode.

This time however it was pretty bad legitimately and not because they didn't capture the essence of the game. Mind you the other parts got pretty funny at times.

I am not sure what to think of the anime JUST yet. I havn't seen where they are taking it just yet... though honestly it is almost over. I was hoping for a 32 episode series, but it looks like it may not even hit 18. (In fact by the pattern it is taking... it will end in 8 episodes and maybe hit 9)

It isn't a bad thing... I just like longer series if they are good (though not massive runners...).

Also Rise seems to be dumb. Also... ADACHI IS RIGHT THERE! you don't have to cover up his ID badge... we know what his face is like. Why even take photos in anime? there is a good chance you won't even be able to see it because of the beams of light that seem to exist everywhere! even in the shade.

The Eastern Gods of DVDs & Blurays also use them to hide naughty bits.

Haven't played Persona 4 myself so watching it without any game nostalgia for it also makes it a rather average show for me overall so far.

I'm betting it'll be 13 episodes... which is really too short. If it's not 13, it'll be 24, and I really can't see it being stretched out that far given the current pace.

Mandatory Tsukihime update: My god the far-side routes. What is even happening. I'll finish it this weekend, hopefully, and move on to Melty Blood and KT. And then Carnival Phantasm at last. And then probably Battle Moon Wars because that looks amazing.

Melty Blood's dialogue plays out like Battle Moon Wars while Kagetsu Tohya is more like a Tsukihime sequel.

You'll probably want to play Kagetsu Tohya first, then Melty Blood, and then Battle Moon Wars.  That way you don't run into any plot problems.

Just finished off Carnival Phantasm ep 1. I know I've been awake for ~40 hours straight so far, but still. What the hell did I just watch?  :-\ I don't think I hate it, but I really can't say I understand it at all.

Edit: Just finished watching the second episode. I have no idea how to describe what happens in this series. "So a bunch of the female cast of tsukihime are playing a game of volleyball while len builds increasingly impressive sandcastles in the background. At one point, the ball gets knocked out of the court into shirou's space rocket, ruining the repair work he was doing." Seriously.

So, sleep deprivation plus two episodes of this mind-altering series plus a few spicy taco-things and an early wakeup for a dental appointment. Should be fun.

So how many references are you peeps catching from Battle Moon Wars? I mean stuff like Gilgamesh's Golden Hammer.

Fuwaaah. I finished Tsukihime, finally. I think I actually liked it more than Fate/Stay Night -- at least, Shiki is a vastly more interesting character than Shirou. Onto Kagetsu Tohya immediately! I made the mistake of checking out the flowchart and oh god what am I even looking at.

It's too bad the official English translation of the Kara no Kyoukai novels have pretty much zero chance of being completed/released -- I'd love to read it on paper rather than a monitor. Light novels in general seem to do pretty poorly over here, Haruhi excluded (though the pace of their releases leaves a lot to be desired: having to wait until 2013 for the later novels is a bit ridiculous.)

If you're crazy you can print out every page but that'd be a lot of ink and paper.

Also holy crap what is your secret to reading so fast.  The far side of the moon took me awhile even if I ignore when I wasn't actively reading it because I've been busy.  Hisui's route was maddening.

Shiki is a vastly more interesting character than Shirou.
I totally agree here.  Shiki was one of my favorite things about Tsukihime.

EDIT:
Off to a good start already.

Oh man Red Demon God was pretty good.  I liked that.

.O.!!! Cobra avatar!  I was just listening to the op, too.  I should dig up the manga sometime.  I'm not even sure how much of it I have, though.  I got it a long time ago.  I think it matches my sense of aesthetics more now, than it did then.

Want to know something odd? I find Cobra to be a bit chunky for some reason.

Cobra is sort of like the most popular character nobody knows.

This is gonna get messy.

The best way to summarize this series is 'Cyborgs and Terrorists duke it out in Italy while everybody dies'.

It's basically a James Bond theme only uh... um... in Japanese.
