Started watching K-On! and reading Black Lagoon. Both are very entertaining (though DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT GENRES).

Burning my way through Infinite Stratos while waiting for my next UPS box full of books to arrive, and it actually is pretty good for having a plot that is essentially packaging for the fanservice. A bit part of that is the refreshing taste of a mecha show that doesn't go the super robot route or tread in the massive, cube-square-law-violating footsteps of the Gundam franchise. Although I keep having this little nagging voice in the back of my head saying that the designer(s) (either in canon or in studio) of the ISes had some sort of three-way split personality, with two of the parts trying to design power armor and mecha respectively, while the third was busy redrawing all of their designs to show off as much skin and skintight bodysuit as possible.

All in all, I'm enjoying it.

In other news, Kaiji is everything I've wanted in a show.  I love Liar Game and Kaiji is almost the exact same thing except a whole lot vulgar, even the fansubs I use [Triad] replace stuff like 'TEMEE' with YOU BASTARD (which I guess makes sense) and there are many FUs.  I need to read One Outs at some point as well.

If he's watching the TV version, then it will be because the first season of K-ON aired in SD 4:3 on most channels. It's Coalguys' version judging by the styling, they released a 16:9 version of each episode later on if I remember correctly.

As I've said before, everyday seems to be a new manga chapter for me.  Today's?  Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, chapter 43.

AND I SEE ACCELERATOR ON THE PREVIEW KEKOKAKIEKOAKEOKAIKEUKAUKEIAKOEKAI

And Kaiji has no women.  And naked men wrestling.

And lots more violence overall.  Those seem to be the main differences.
