Anyone know where one can find decent subs of Aria the Scarlet Ammo? The place I usually use keeps linking badly subbed versions that must be machine translated for that series. Really irritating to be reading yoda style wording where half the time even that doesn't make sense.

Not quite.
It's about the character, not the setting he is in.
Oh, I see what you mean now. I too, wish I could give no damns about almost anything.

How far have you gotten into the series, Mindmaker?

First season apparently.

I suggest he skips episodes 2-8 from season 2 completely watches all of the second season. No skipping.

That is correct.
And after that, I watched the first episode, that I skipped at first...

I mean... what? Why would they do that?
Do they really expect people to continue watching after it?

Someday, I shall watch everything in the chronologically correct order...

Anyway, I'll be starting watching the second season today. With a few episodes of Oreimo thrown in, every now and then.
Meanwhile, I can look for some new anime to watch. Preferably something with depth...

I can't remember what I've already recommended, but I'm guessing I've already recommended Mushishi a ton already.

Mononoke is worth a watch. Not really deep, but the stories are interesting.
Likewise with Bartender.
Time of Eve is definitely worth a watch too. It just glazes over the morality of android use, but it's pretty light-hearted and enjoyable.
Maybe you'll enjoy some of the stuff in Genius Party. Short animations made by different artists.
You might enjoy Mind Game. It's a movie.
You might enjoy Tekkon Kinkreet too. It's also a movie.

Sort of hard for me to make recommendations because of my tastes, and you already saw Neon Genesis Evangelion, which is Mariana Trench levels of deep, making everything else seem like an inflatable kiddie pool.

B-But Endless Eight!
They still have new backgrounds every time, it's still watchable.

I think the only reason I actually watched all of those was that I couldn't believe they'd actually make that many nigh-identical episodes. Although, if you have, I dunno, a game of minesweeper or something going off to the side, it's not that big a deal. The mounting creepiness with each successive repetition was kind of cool.

Well the new season begins nicely.
Seeing Kyon loose his cool that often in a single episode? Brilliant.

@Joshua:
Finally reached the scene you mentioned in Berserk.
That did close all the chronological gaps for me.

But now I remember my own issues I had with the arrival of the trolls :/

English loanwords are part of Japanese youth culture, though.

I use Japanese loanwords occasionally, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate Canadian culture.
