Well this was a very weak plot...

The main character beat a proxy of "House of the Dead" and because he was unsatisfied he was challenged to play their "Hardest game"

The game consisted of shooting exactly five times against 5 opponents (And the second enemy killed itself and the last boss had two forms) in very obvious weakpoints.

I've never been so unimpressed by the "Most difficult game ever". Usually "Extremely tough" games in animes and other cartoons are too rediculously difficult to be played sanely.

When you reach around episode 23/24 or so, you need to make a decision: Finish the series, or skip right to watching End of Evangelion. Even if you finish the series, you should watch End of Evangelion, and then go ahead and watch the Rebuild of Evangelion movies (So far only 1.01/1.11 and 2.01/2.22 are out).

Huh... so they only mutilated her and stuff.  I suppose being monsters who can regenerate to an extreme degree and with superb knowledge of anatomy / limits of their own bodies do have a benefit...

Possibly the best description I heard of .hack the anime was "Monotonous and talky"

Frankly I liked the show but yeah... that is it.

For an anime taking place in a videogame not a lot of action happens. Also it is deeply disturbing and often quite confusing. Also the English Dub is great in my oppinion.

Don't expect movies or shows about video games to be represented properly, otherwise, they'll get the dreaded R or MA rating or NC-17 for all the constant cursing, teabagging, and all other sorts of nonsense that happens in a game world riddled with players from around the world. Modding could also make things better or worse.

Even some shows that would have worlds like you see in Super Mario (or shows based on Mario) will just have  a bunch of people across the kingdom screwing each other over to make progress (and nothing but expletives afterward), or for the hell of it (then again, I did recently finish watching Freelance Astronauts going through New Super Mario Bros. Wii).

To the point where I think the anime may actually be a bit better without her.

My nomination: The Co-woman in Detective Loki. Annoying, not a love interest, not interesting, and uttarly pointless... Her only role is to be a damsel once in a while and say "Mystery"

(Dang Detective Loki... the premise SEEMED interesting... but nope... the trickster god is really tame and the other gods are jokes. While it isn't as BAAAD as some I've seen, it is a skipable show)
