Anything else I should add?

For comedy both Excel Saga and Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei are gold.

e: Anime for both. The Excel anime departs wildly from the more serious manga and the Zetsubo Sensei anime was done by Shaft, who do great animation.

Maybe Akira?

I've only seen the movie, but it was quite good.

I really need to see Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei.  That's with the guy that can't kill himself and is in despair right.

Also, another thing.

Is Katsuragi... interested in Shinji?

If she is, what. de. fack.

Indeed. He's in so much despair even Light can't kill him.

Man, why haven't I watched season 3 yet?

It's anime. Everybody is interested in everybody.

But no, Misato is just capricious and drunk. Her true affections lie elsewhere.

I have I sort of like it in a way. Though it is a VERY creepy show. VERY creepy.

It is a depressing show pretending to be a optimistic one and nothing is EVER solved, only made worse.

I never saw anything in it as depressing, everything was always played for laughs.  Although I haven't quite gotten all the way through season 2 yet.

It's about as depressing as any other social satire. Little cynical, maybe bitter, but I never actually felt sad for any of the characters. Even Itoshiki who really just brings it all on himself.

Honestly, I just thought it was a hilarious spot-on satire with awesome and quirky art and frequent mood whiplash. The only part I ever found creepy was when Chiri is trying to be ditzy. And even then that was so hilarious that I was way too busy laughing to be disturbed.

I totally ship Itoshiki-sensei x Kafuka.

Also, I need to get around to watching the second season of GITS, at some point when I have real time rather than fake time that doesn't actually exist.

Yes.

I am not into the whole shipping thing really but me too. I can't decide if it's because it's basically Dazai x Kafka, which has to be the most appropriate literary figure ship ever, or because it's basically Kafka x Kafuka ("I'm in despair! My life as an insurance claims investigator has left me in despair!").

Yeah, I don't actually ship that much, either.  I may have favorite characters, which then kind of degenerates into favorite pairings by proxy (i.e. pairings that contain my favorite characters, because that means more screentime and character development), but usually I don't ship.

But in this case, the ensuing explosion from the collision of "matter" and "anti-matter" would just be too good to miss.  Way too good.

Haha, yeah. They have the best comedic chemistry. They're both so oblivious to the other's band of experience that it's almost as if they're not actually interacting even when they're talking directly to one another. Imagining them living together is like the perfect comedic storm.

Just finished season one of Code Geass.
Such a Death Note ending, I was raging for a short while.

So, I guess I have to watch season two now to see anything resolved right?
