ok guys i'm really fricking bored right now, you guys can recommend any visual novels? guidelines would be at least english translated, minimal pron unless the storyline is good.

Dunno if you've read it.  Everything except the last episode is in English at the moment (and they're working on that pretty fast).  First one's free (and no porn!  Truly a rarity).

They made an epic fighting game of this, I'd recommened everything this series has to offer, visual novels, anime, game everything!

I'm gonna second Umineko even though I have no right to, having not played it yet.

Ever17 is probably my favorite visual novel. It's kind of metaphysical and mind-screwy. Phantom of Inferno was also great. And Narcissu is a free dojin soft more along the lines of a traditional bishoujo game. All of those are porn-free.

Umineko is also metaphysical fictional and mind-screwy.

I have a feeling it comes with the genre.

Yeah, I think they do just go hand in hand. The immersion and the choices allow for a lot of playing around and acknowledgement that the reader is the reader.

Alright, I can't hold out any longer. Playing Umineko now.

The opening is a bit slow, seems to be mainly to try and immerse you there.

Although it has at least 3 vital clues in it.  Probably a whole bunch which I missed, too.

EDIT: And by opening I mean "first bit of the novel", not "opening movie".

Checked it out, and randomly picked "Toward the Terra" to look into. So far, it seems like a pretty decent series... and though it was made recently, I was surprised to learn that it was based on a 30-year-old manga. Got something of a Dystopian 1984-ish feel, with a heavily Japanese twist. Also psychics.

Toony's doesn't, and Boksi's is a silly joke, but /k/ is pretty picky about what's acceptable.
Still, though, the only part of that they can all agree on is GitS.
Everybody loves Ghost in the Shell.
