Oh, I nearly forgot to mention that I've been enjoying a weird little series that I've never heard of before my friend introduced it to me:

"How to Raise a Kappa"




It's a lovely little mini-series anime that takes place in a world exactly like our own, with the sole exception that Kappa, or Water Imps, not only exist, but have been domesticated and are popular pets for the people of Japan. Kappa in this series are like dogs in intelligence, but a little smarter, and grow up to be startling humanoid, if incapable of speech.

The series follows a faceless man and his diary and stream-of-thought style narration as he aims to raise his very own baby Kappa. This anime is, simply put, extremely adorable. No episode is longer than 5 minutes, and so it takes a quick skit format of comedy, not unlike Azumanga Daioh, and is entirely cute and entertaining like it as well. I'm moving onto episode 17, and plan to finish up the series very soon.

Also, apparently that next chapter of Mirai Nikki (the one for December) will be the last one.  Damn I chose a good time to start, I never had to wait four years as it plodded along.  Although I have a feeling it's going to suck.


Also, Liar Game doesn't have an anime, but the live-action drama series has some ridiculous music.
Pretty much every single track is just mind screw ambiance music.

My favorites are Prolouge, The Force of Gravity, Liar Game, Electrode Spark 0101, Breakthrough.


Also, since my brother is over a friend's house we haven't been able to watch One Piece.  Still on episode 397.  Although I was able to see the new opening for one episode.  I love those whispering-type parts.

Also, Euld's avatar reminds me.  How is the Big-O?  Is it good?  I might plan on watching it later.

Big-O was pretty good for one of those super robot shows that try to have as convoluted and nonsensical a plot as possible. The atomosphere was cool and it had a really good English dub.

It was also written by Chiaki Konaka. And I dunno who the character designer was but the characters are all a strange mix of anime and Western style which was interesting. Kind of like a reverse Teen Titans.

Overall I'd say better than NGE. Definitely worth watching.

I'm not sure if I could say Big O is nonsensical, it seems too serious for that.  I'd just say the story was never fully resolved in my opinion (there was no second season! it doesn't exist) and would make more sense if it was... you know on the other hand, I think you're right XD

To answer earlier question, dubs can be totally awesome if they get awesome voice actors.  Like, they used Alessandro Juliani as L in Death Note, which made me squee.  It really depends.

I love Tenma's dub voice in Monster.  Same goes for Grimmer's and Lunge's.
