Is the anime Gungrave worth watching??? I just finished Brotherhood and am looking for something new

I thought it was terrible. It might pick up eventually but the beginning is so droll.

Dude, droll means "funny".

I'm going to pretend I meant "it is a dramatic series but the beginning winds up being so over the top and overdramatic that it becomes an entirely whimsical affair with characters that act stupidly and exposition leaking from every corner" to save face.

Well Gungrave gets good only after the first few episodes when shit starts to complicate a bit more, and after you get halfway trough it you really don't care much for what the hell was going in the first episode and personally the last few episodes were not all that great compared to the rest, but the ending is pretty awesome, quite unexpected and quite a big move on his behalf.

Yeah this.  Hence why I say skip the first episode.  It just serves to confuse and infuriate you.

Ok this just happened... I was watching Hitman Reborn (UGH that anime is SLOOOOW) and the two female leads basically demand that they be allowed to help the main characters

Japan is still the kind of place where entry level jobs for women consist of serving tea to male executives.  But yeah, I hate it when anime dumbs down their good female characters.
