So I just found out the first anime I saw growing up, Gundam Wing, wasn't all that well received. I'm somewhat saddened by this. A lot of shows I love, people seem to hate.

Most hilarious...
I got a lot of laughs from FLCL and from Gurren Lagann because they were so over the top, but maybe Mahou Sensei Negima has made me laugh more just because it was perhaps even less serious than FLCL and Gurren Lagann (If that can even be imagined...). Same goes for Love Hina, although I only read the manga, and it was done by the same artist.
Then again, I probably laughed most at Neon Genesis Evangelion (haha, sarcasm).

Very true, but for what he wanted with "Transhumanism", it fits the bill to an absolute tee in terms of content, and in some cases in terms of plot as well. If he can follow it, it'll probably be very enjoyable for him. It's an enjoyable anime anyway. Haven't read the manga though...

I've seen next to nothing of Death Note. Actually, my experience with it is pretty much limited to this Youtube Poop video.

Anywho, I'm thinking of watching/publicly livestreaming some classic Anime in the next few days, starting with Record of Lodoss War. Do people have a general preference for Subtitles or Dubs? Lodoss actually has a really well-done English Dub, so I'm kinda leaning that way myself.
