Ugh, this stuff is just getting weird. I went to the main Horriblesubs website and got redirected to an interpol warning about blocked domains because of CP. Thanks Australia. I went there to see which TV cartoons are airing, then the implication is I'm a pedo for looking at that site!

Considering that 100% of HorribleSubs content is just streams from CrunchyRoll and Funimation this is clearly BS, and it's likely that someone in the industry decided it was more effective to claim HS is a pedo site as a way to get it blocked rather than prove they've infringing copyright.
You're with Optus or Telstra, right? They've gone into a big moral panic about, uh, basically anything. Liveleak is blocked, several archiving sites are blocked, multiple forums and other communities too. For me it's just blocked as a piracy site

I'm using Vodafone actually. Really thinking of just paying for a VPN now, because too many sites don't work anymore. The ironic thing is that nyaa.si and horriblesubs are now blocked, along with a ton of anime streaming sites such as kissanime, yet thepiratebay.org and katcr.co are totally unblocked on this service. There's no rhyme or reason to any of this. Why are the two major pirates sites still up while niche anime sites are blocked?

Whoever's doing the decision making is a raging xenophobe, I guess? Foreign culture = devil, rampant copyright infringement = meh.

I know iinet doesn't block half as much stuff. But yeah, the major ISP's in Australia are nannying hard.

Well, we are talking about the country which, at least allegedly, banned porn in which the girl isn't sufficiently busty, because apparently pedophiles?

Australia can handle dropbears and 10 inch long spiders, make a bank robber with a bucket on his head a national hero, and lose a war against the Emu, but god forbid someone see anime thighs!

If you don't want to pay for a vpn, you can access IP-blocked sites using Tor.

Tor would be rather awful for streaming and/or downloading large files, though.

I'm watching Net-juu no Susume, going in blind, I thought it might be low grade otaku fare but it's actually a very endearing romcom with some MMO related stuff.

That's a show I really liked. The social antics of the main heroine and hero are adorable, the inclusion of the actual best wingman in existence, tied together with a plausible MMO contrivance. I definitely wouldn't mind another season to see how everything fleshes out.

Though the show might be more famous now for the director being an anti-semite and Nazi Sympathizer, you wouldn't know that just from watching the show though.

They probably couldn't do another whole season, because the main plot threads are all resolved by the end of the show, and wikipedia says it's from only a 2-volume manga, so it's likely they adapted pretty much all the source material.

And for the last episode of the TV series I was waiting for

but instead got

So that's the level it got to, but it actually feels in character for both of them, so it works for the ending. That ending managed to be humorous but also touching and subtle, and it tells you what you need to know.

Also, I caught what I assume is an Easter egg in Read or Die episode 24.

Ok so it's not like, Hello Kitty gets in a big kitty robot, it's just literally Hello Kitty about to fistfight a gundam.

Yeah this sounds like a good thing. I'm in too.
