I was going to make a joke about someone swapping the scripts for an anime with a porno but then I did a little research and uh... It seems to be a dark comedy touching upon some of the evils of the idol industry. So bugger if I know what to say anymore.

FLCL Progressive is done.
I get that a part of this show is that some parts are subtle mysteries that make sense if you pay attention, others are mysteries that aren't meant to be understood, and still others are just wacky for the sake of being wacky. I feel like this season was not enough of the first, too much of the second, and the third just wasn't executed very well.
What was the deal with the plant-girl and her theme park army? Why was everyone turning into spooge towards the end? Why was Atomsk's final form so lame? I probably just wasn't paying close enough attention. I definitely think that the vorarephilia theme just petered out without leading to anything though.

I respect them for trying it but I don't think it lived up to the comic. In my opinion, the delivery just doesn't work as well.

I need help guys. I got a song stuck in my head but can't remember what anime it was from and it's killing me. It was a very intense sad sounding song in which silhouettes of the characters broke into particles (maybe petals?) and flew off screen. My vague memory suggests it was a romantic tragedy anime.

This is probably not what you're talking about, as it's not a particularly sad song...but it's what comes to mind when I think of AMV's with silhouetted characters. I had this as my phone's live wallpaper for a while.

One Piece and Naruto ipod commercials also come to mind...though even less likely what you're referring to.

The Madoka Magica ending song[Magia] is very intense, could be construed as sad sounding and features silhouettes of the characters.That's all that comes to mind.

FLCL is dense, I can see that there is a lot of shit that I haven't processed yet, but I'm enjoying the weird ride, and the scene with the twilight song sold me anyways, and speaking of twilight I recall from the manga that Gangsta is getting another season?

Oh yeah new season of Overlord starting up. Can't wait to mock the show like it's trash while also loving it unironically.

And after the longest wait ever, I've finally finished Zero Time Dilemma. Really loved it, though I still feel blue balled by the ending.

I've skipped a lot of it, but since this covers some of the best volumes in the series, I reckon I'll be picking it back up with the new season. For people who haven't read the books, this will be the first season to have a truly spectacular finale. It will also have a lot more slice of life than previous volumes, since that's the main focus of the middle volume of this season. The first volume of the season (7) is more subjective in popularity, but at least it's not the lizard porn volume.

Today I got "schooled" by some visiting American dude at a meetup about not being with-it in regards to anime (because I'd mentioned Macross/Gundam). He pointed out that I'm into the old shit and therefore imply he's of the generation into the hip new animes. So I asked him for examples of the modern animes he likes, and got "Naruto" and "Bleach" as the only examples. Le sigh. I then mentioned I don't like those types of shows, and that one of the reasons is that they're so long. The he said "all animes are getting like that these days". Le sigh. This is the walking example of how the Dunning-Kruger effect works.

However to make up for it there was another guy there I talked to a bit later who liked things like Nichijou, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, Clannad, Chihayafuru, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, etc.

Man, now that I think about it I should have asked if that guy had seen Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu.
