No, seriously, the manga version of Pao no Monogatari is so amazing, you won't believe that someone actually wrote it. There's such a wide range of characters ranging from "worse than Hitler" (all male characters) to "Jesus Christ incarnate" (all female characters), with virtually nothing in between.

BTW, it's not just a cell phone novel series, it's literally the series that kicked off the concept of cell phone novels. You can see in the Deep Love series how high the bar was set for later cell phone novels.

It's not much more moe than GuP or Yotsubato!. It's a bit more colorful and lacks many action scenes (besides the manga shop guy and his... attitude towards selling manga) but it's really funny. Like Seinfield.
