Yeah, it's weird, there are details that are really good, they didn't do badly with mr. iron staff knight, and like I said, Serpico was great. Then you get mysteriously white Casca, missing-jaw Guts, and overly manly Griffith?

A bit late in the reply, but "generic" doesn't really describe Mahouka. The writer didn't have the basic level of story construction ability which would rank it as generic. Describing it as "low quality" doesn't really do it justice either. The writer had so little clue about basic story construction that it's not really on the same axis any more as series with "comparable" settings. It's like if someone wrote My Immortal by accident, and completely seriously. It's a trainwreck on every conceivable level, and manages to trainwreck itself on another entire set of inconceivable levels, which is what makes it worth checking out, rather than any other school-based battle series.

Nothing makes any goddamn sense, if you can't tell we REALLY phoned it in that episode because its hard to make jokes out of incomprehensible bullshit.

Though if I HAD to choose I would probably go with THE EYEBALLS THAT THE ANIMATORS FETISHIZE SO HARD XD

Seriously though, half the series is just close up eyeball movements. I'm not exaggerating, LITERALLY half the show's screentime is dedicated to watching peoples eyeballs move around.

I've never had a Waifu.
