Each part also has a very different feel to it. For instance, I can't bring myself to like Stone Ocean, it just tries too hard to be edgy and shit.

Yeah, I really hate doormat protagonists as well, which makes the first season a bit painful to watch. Although it does get better, eventually. And from there on it's awesome.

Yeah when I saw the whole multiple protags thing I kinda figured this would be the case, but as stated, painful to watch.

The third season's protagonist is about as similar to a doormat as Chie Satonaka is to a vegan.

But don't worry, Jonathan becomes less of a push over later on(AKA episode 2)

It sounds like he grows out of it so quick when you put it that way but it's stated this went on for at least SEVEN YEARS of him being a doormat.

It was more like seven years of both of them just ignoring each other really.

More like seven years of Dio pretending to be friends with him, so there wasn't really anything for Jonathan to actually do.

There was "Murder Dio" clearly marked on his to-do list but he just REFUSED to get around to it!

Oh man, F/SN:UBW is back again, and those visuals are even more top tier than the first season if that's even possible. *-*

WOW!

I thought they were setting up a "He might be" joke

But my favorite character in Fairytale Freed turns out to be actually gay

And while it is sometimes played for laughs, the laughs are the kind that you get in any typical romance rather than "He is gay? Ha ha ha".

As well he Laxus hasn't contracted extreme physical reactions to it either (as is typical the straight, well he might be straight, guy needs to make violent exaggerated reactions to reassert his straightness AKA doing the Adam Sandler), he for the most part isn't really resisting Freed's more innocent advances, making the non-couple kind of cute. This is unusually pleasant for anime or just media in general. Heck they aren't even making a big scene nor are they shoving it so far in the background you can't see it.

Not only does this make me like Freed more, I think I need to give current Fairy Tail more credit.

Dang it Fairy Tail give me more Freed!

---

Huh, the current arc is coming on strong too... Maybe the show will turn itself around.

Damn it Neonivek!

I can't see that awesomeness cuz the dubbed stuff only goes to 175 :(
I mean the subbed ones have more, but after watching that many episodes dubbed I just can't switch.

Just finished watching last season's Saekano. Quite fun to watch them being honestly & shamefully poking the 4th wall while being tropey & meta.

Good choice for a opening performance too.

Also just watched Plastic Little, a new show this season. It's basically Assisted Robot Suicide - The Anime.

Quite an interesting premise, kind of a crappy job for someone emotional though.

Also latest FSN-UBW. Seriously, to those who know it, who wasn't waiting for it?

Parasyte is cool. Maybe a bit too gory but still cool.

So, decided to give the first episode or so of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure a watch.

Right now I'm kinda meh to be honest.

Mostly squicked out by what happened to the doggie :( just a bit too real for me there.

Also REALLY hate the protag, just seems like a complete fucking doormat. I would've murderated Dio within an hour of meeting him, so its hard to sympathize with someone who lets him get away with shit for GODDAMN YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS. Not to mention the shit he takes from his dad.

I know from a cursory look on tvtropes that the second issue will be somewhat solved, and the second protag's description makes him sound a lot better, but for now I'm not really feeling it.

Probably soldier through more of it later, but first impression flopped hard.
It's a bog-standard revenge plot dude, is this really the first time you've encountered it?
