There is a new Steins;Gate game coming, and it has already been greenlit for an anime. Also, the sequel game to Chaos;Head is getting animated.

Thoughts are: "there's a sequel to Chaos;Head??? Oh god no!" and "I hope they don't fuck up Steins;Gate!"

So yeah, have watched a bit more of Legend of Galactic Heroes.

It's hitting all of my 4X and RTS/Total War buttons at once ohhohohohohoho

amusingly it seems more like a turn based strategy. But that is due to the rule of drama, I suppose.

Although it's pretty damn accurate on tactics and strategy for an anime.

LotGH is what happens when you make a show for adults instead of teenagers or children.

Here is the thing most people who don't watch anime don't know...

People don't really care about the fanservice.

At least most people don't... I'd in fact think the vast majority. In fact I think I'll make a poll.

There is actually a disturbing amount of people who only care about what underage boobs they can see in a new anime or game series (Trying looking up Valkyrie Drive, though you might need to kill yourself afterwards); These people are the ones killing the industry.

Also Death Parade's ending was pretty good, I think the series is worth watching.

I was really delighted that Death Parade managed to stay quality for the entire run and be an honestly good show.
One of those anime that you recommend to people years later when they say they want something different and unique.

Makes me wonder why Hakuba and Akako are cool with the idea. They probably find the concept of working with Kid to catch Kid quite lulzy.

Note how he said the cat stopped coming to visit after that happened. So, the cat has given his stamp of disapproval to the whole affair: "you sicken me". I think Ginti is in there to contrast Decim with another Arbiter who is really not emotionally connected.

I had the legit strangest dream, where the directors of Pokemon and DBZ were switched. In the dream, Ash's first fight with Brock is a 9 episode slugfest, and in DBZ the Frieza arc is wrapped up in a two-parter and then never mentioned again.

Way to go dreamself, makin me feel like a prepubescent Toonami fan again.

I doubt they are seriously hurting the industry... They are the ones who are funding those TERRIBLE "almost porno" animes that go directly to DVD I've heard so much about. The ones that even anime sites generally do not have.

So hot damn, we're getting a Steins;Gate sequel!

Just finished watching Kokoro Connect, which is about a group of highschoolers who get messed around with by a psychic plant alien. I normally read the synopsis of an anime, read "set in the prestigious high school akamablahablah" and look for something else, but I bit the bullet. It was a bit melodramatic in places, and yet they didn't whine enough about being the playthings of this cosmic abomination, but I still loved it. Helped that the primary couple I shipped won out - but I had to track down episodes 14-17 somewhere other than crunchyroll because licensing hates you.

Also watched all but the last episode of Parasyte and enjoyed the hell out of that too, even though it was a bit heavy on the masculine power fantasy. I like how it sets up a green aesop but then says "actually nah watevs" and drops it at the last minute. Gives me ideas for a Tzimisce character who psychologically displaces his beast/embrace into his fleshcrafted arm and calls it a parasite.

And just a while ago, I watched the first season of Psycho-pass. Great soundtrack, slightly reminiscent of blade-runner in some respects, a cyberpunk thriller. A bit too self-congratulatory about the literary references it makes, but still amazingly solid, and in my opinion considerably better than anything except possibly Steins;Gate. I think I'll likely be rewatching it.

So I feel like the ending is bittersweet because the bad guy wins. They don't take him in, and instead he gets shot like he wanted. I just wish that he'd been apprehended and forcibly inducted into the Sibyl system.
