Heh, the second episode has that beautiful moment where you really know in your gut that it's D&D through and through, when Etoh says, "Never be so proud that you pass up a chance for experience."  :P

There should be a Quest or something about fighting an alien invasion with a crossover force of MS Girls (for space), Kancolle, Strike Witches, and uh... Darnit I can't think of any quintessential moe tank power armor thing.
Girls Und Panzer kind of fits the bill, but they're not actually tank people.

Reading a long letsplay of another anime game.

You know if there was one joke in anime I'd be happy if it was entirely eliminated...

It would be "Insecure about my boobs" jokes.

It is one thing to be unfunny and prolific. It is another to make me feel the tinge of systematic discrimination and male gaze every time.

In fact I'd put the entire "Female appearance insecurity" jokes in there as a whole... if it wasn't so wide in scope that I'd be unfair to say it.

I used to be able to ignore it, but it is becoming more and more insistent as it goes on. It somehow manages to be even creepier and more perverted then just typical oversexualization at this point, because at least at that point there isn't a sort of commentary on body image going on in the subtext.

Though making these posts at 1pm after I did not get any sleep is not the best thing to do about post-cohesiveness.

---
To Sum up what I wrong into a short sentence:

"Scenes where a female character displays insecurity about her breast size is starting to really creep me out more and more everyday... and DAMN I am sleepy"

Speaking of Lodoss, is Lodoss any good? I hear it's literally "Dungeons and Dragons: the Anime".

It's good in a very traditional sort of way, but it also takes a few episodes before things get going properly.
I liked that the main character started off shit and trained for a legitimate amount of time, on screen, to get good. It made it feel justified.

From a story perspective, this is nice.

As a D&D campaign, I have to wonder what sort of DM would let half his players pull old characters who made it all the way through to the end of his last campaign while the others are using 1st level chumps. And the ranger is deliberately trying to keep the party split so that she can sneak around and be all mysterious!  :P

I dunno, there was one game I was in and how it worked is that there were missions...

But everyone had two characters... One was a mighty character and the other was sort of... not weak... but not special.

So if you used the strong character on a mission, you often had to resort to the weaker one on the other.

Though in the end how it worked out is we had the Alpha team and the Beta Team. With the Alpha team being all the strong characters, and the Beta being all the weak ones.

I think you might be over-analyzing cheap sexual humour.

Also did you ever read Umineko

Oh, no. I was just struggling to find a way to express in text the sheer breathless laughter I was experiencing.

Oh yay! It's great isn't it?! Also when they generated backstories Urobuchi would reroll whenever something good happened to his character.

On a related note, according to an interview apparently when Urobuchi was in high school everyone hated him when he DMed Dnd because they would all die before hitting level 2. Made him real popular at Call of Cthulu though.

This just keeps sounding better and better. Time to put on my anti-hype goggles and be prepared for disappointment.

I'd say a anime with lovecraft sanity elements would be interesting...

Except its anime... characters already have their sanity loosely screwed in.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
