So wait, wait, wait.... Naruto's daughter is named Salad?!
Is that any worse than one of Vegeta's family members being named Bra?
If you're going to mentions Sayians, you should mention that they're largely named after vegetables. I can assure you there's one out there literally named lettuce.

Given that Naruto isn't a comedy series or at least quasi-comedy... Yes it is worse. Also more then one in Vegeta's family is named after bra.

Mind you not that I find all the names silly... I think Piccolo is a good name for a villain.
Indeed, the entire human family Vegeta(ble) married into is apparently named after underwear: Dr. Briefs had two daughters, Bloomers and Tights, and Vegeta and Bloomers had Bra and Trunks.  Warning: TV Tropes inbound

And then there's Pan who has a double theme-naming from both her parents' families. Kudos to Toriyama there.

I also have to hand it to anime parents they seem to ALWAYS know when their child is going to have Orange or Red hair throughout their life when they name them Ichigo as a child.

It isn't like it is uncommon for redheads to grow out of being a redhead or anything... >_>

(It is a little known fact that anime parents use artificial hormones to manipulate their kid's hair colour in utero. This is also how the kids often look near-identical to their parents.)

... wait a minute, neo, are you actually trying to find a sensible pattern in anime hair color? Because.

Well. Because. I mean. The nature of that endeavor should be obvious on the face of it.

Though as to naruto, food names fit in fine. The bloody series is named fishcake. It's all good.

Most anime hair colors aren't actually the color you see.

Rule of thumb: UNLESS they outright say the color of their hair is blue or green... assume it isn't.

Exactly, it's a medium convention to keep people from all looking alike. Incidentally, Knights of Sidonia was a good example of why it exists: despite them obviously putting a good deal of effort into making characters visually distinct, it was still a chore to tell them apart.

I'm liking how in Gundam Reconguista the protagonist's faction (sortof) have been using the "monoeye" units, while the antagonists are the GM style MS. It's an interesting role reversal. The Grimoire's my favorite of the Amerian designs so far, with the Hecate in second.

Spoiler: MS Bros! (click to show/hide)

Well, checked out Hanamonogatari the other day, the latest 5 episode arc of Monogatari, though it was repacked as a movie in the d/l I got. It was pretty cool, I'd kinda forgotten how surreal this whole franchise is, both visually and with the dialogue. The animators were definitely having fun with this release. And the best antagonist came back too:

Quote from: the wiki
But this is to his advantage as someone who deceives with wordplay extremely well.

Yeah, but who in Monogatari isn't a master of complex arcane wordplay? It's pretty much a given that if you're in that series you're obsessed with obscure Japanese wordplay and puns.

Well that twist in the latest fairytale episode made... the current predicament a lot less interesting.

Its rare that I see a situation de-escalate because of exposition... but I guess if they kept the most likely explanation for the current events the show would be too dark.

Its just weird though. It is like opting for the less interesting plotline with full awareness that it is the less interesting one.

Just started Zankyou no Terror myself. It's got a huge weight of names behind it, and the first few episodes look promising, but we'll see.
