Gunka no Baltzar 
Alright, so this is a manga I must recommend.  Its setting is between the age of muskets and rifles.   This is about some officer who is sent to another country as a military advisor/trainer in an officer academy of sorts.
Pros: Is not Shonen
Cons: I don't know, I'm bad at this.

This is fucking amazing. The art is perfect. Very sharp and I love the detailed faces and uniforms.

Arpeggio of Blue Steel looks neat. I like the concept, and the emphasis on ships and sea-faring makes for lovely scenery. So much blue. Also the OP song is nice.

Only complaint is the CG animation. Makes for some stiff and bland looking moments of character animation and interaction. Looks like most action will be focused on vehicles though, not person vs person combat.

I kept trying to get into it cause the effects in the trailer looked nice, and the effects looked amazing, but every time I tried I got bored of it almost immediately for some reason.

I suggest the manga. The anime split off and went on its own. Still, pretty ships, macross missile massacre and wave motion gun. Seeing all those animated is awesome.

Final Episode of Gundam Unicorn got released today. I AM SO FRICKIN EXCITED. I have the rental downloaded from PSN and ready to go when my cousin comes over to watch it.

Anyone heard of Heroic Age or Tokyo Ravens?

I watched the Tokyo Ravens anime. "Average" i'd say, had some good bits and bad bits. Not something I'd highly recommend. Strike The Blood is a similar one I watched at the same time. I enjoyed StB a little more. StB is more light novel arc-based though, but has tighter plotting and better artwork (though a lot more fanservice). Tokyo Ravens had the "bigger" series ending, but I had to sit through 20+ eps of stuff that mainly felt sub-par to see it.

Tokyo Ravens plot was more all over the place and had more "magical highschool" setting, whereas StB had the school stuff as only a sideline, and most of the screen time was dedicated to fighting different enemies, overall it's quite similar to Toaru Majutsu no Index.

Just finished watching the last episode of Gundam Unicorn. Soundtrack and visuals were fantastic as always.

Though the events got increasingly silly stupid as the episode went on. It was really ridiculous, but still entertaining. And on the bright side they cut out the really stupid part from the novels where the Unicorn tried to be an Eva and eat Banagher and flew off into space when he rejected him. So that was good. The Silver Bullet cameo was awesome though. Best butler.

So so disappointing that Bright didn't slap anyone. My cousin and I were shouting at the tv for him to slap someone during all of the Cheyenne mountain scenes after the laser got fired.

Mirai Nikki is pretty interesting. I'd like it more if it dropped it's full-on romance episodes though.
