Oh man dat new KLK episode 22. I was, again, pretty much yelling "holy shit" for the last couple minutes. The whole episode was great, but that ending. THAT ENDING CLIFFHANGER. I'm practically foaming at the mouth for next Thursday.

Also, Ryuko got both scissor blades. Should be interesting to see how she uses them together. A giant scissor would be an interesting weapon.

Dat facepunching scene. Had some good shonen "believe in the me that believes in you" speech moments.

Dat Ryuko blushing at trying to call Satsuki "Sister". Ha. Adorable. She couldn't even get the word out.

It's interesting how Satsuki and Ryuko have to work together to beat the big bad. Coincidentally, the transformation scene's song includes the lyrics "we have to be as one." Probably has more to do with the individual working together with the Kamui, but it also fits with Ryuko and Satsuki working together. Also fits with the two scissor blades and how they're implied to be used together, like when Ryuko's dad made them.

There seems to be an overarching theme of teamwork in this anime. The Kamui+the wearer, Satsuki+her Elite Four, Ryuko+Mako and family, Satsuki+Jenketsu, Ryuko+Senketsu, etc. Also all the symbolism/recurring motives of two working as one, with the whole Kamui thing, various people fusing with life fibers, the scissor blades being seperate and now together as one pair, etc etc. Ryuko still carries the team a whole lot with all her superhuman powers, but even when she's out of action all the other protagonists manage to support themselves quite capably against opponents that they could be overwhelmed by if they were alone. The whole Nudist Beach resistance while Ryuko was unconscious did really well, considering what they were up against and without Life Fiber powers.

Honestly, the fansub seems to be better than the official localization.
