Nothing that hasn't already been mentioned. I'm in the process of watching GunXSword and Trinity Blood, along with Gurren Lagann. I'm enjoying all three at the moment.

If you haven't, I recommend Escaflowne, Samurai Champloo, lots of others I can't think of right now.

If you don't mind short but awesome, then try out Afro Samurai.

What are you looking for? Light or serious?

Any thing with 24 (ish) or less episodes. 12 would be perfect.

Serial Experiments Lain? Baccano!? Chaos Head? Darker Than Black? FLCL? Cowboy Bebop?

I don't know what you like, or what you've seen, but those are all awesome and 6-26 Episodes.

If you want something funny to watch, there's always Lucky Star. Just watched a few episodes today. I forgot how entertaining it was.

If you want more ideas, and an easy source to watch from, I'm just going to plug the site I usually watch from. Got a pretty good list.

Awesome, that'll take out so much of the hassle of searching for stuff.

That link is handy Itnet, I'll be punching that random button for a while until I find something interesting...

Having reminded myself of Chaos Head, and being discouraged towards new anime after watching a couple I didn't much enjoy, I started rewatching it... It's a bit of making fun of otaku, a bit of magical girl, a fair bit of mystery and ultraviolence and a shitload of mindfuck. Right up my alley. The art style is meh, but besides that I recall loving it. Has anyone else seen it?

After watching the first lucky star I spent an hour thinking about how I eat sponge cake.

Also after reading a bit in biomega I now know where bears with guns comes from.

I remember watching it while waiting for better anime to download. The ending was just a giant, "What?". It wasn't terrible, not really. It wasn't brilliant, though. From the otaku/mystery/mindfuck viewpoint, you might want to consider Welcome to the NHK.

As an alternative to streaming anime, in case anyone would rather download entire series (usually in higher quality than you get from most streaming sites) I'd recommend BakaBT. Lots of ridiculously obscure anime there, too, but they don't have any licensed series. They do, however, have plenty of soundtracks and character songs.

Apparently The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is good — I suppose it'll be a few months before the DVD/Blu-ray is released though, sadly. With K-On! S2 coming so soon I'm left wondering when KyoAni will release another season of TMoHS.
Speaking of which, I'd love to know where the tenth book in the series is. Leaving such a cliffhanger for so many years is downright cruel.

I believe they've announced a move based on the fourth novel.  Due out sometime around April.

Also, I couldn't help but share this picture here.

I'm currently watching Princess Tutu, which is.. uh..

A magical duck story inspired by Grimm-style western fairy-tales, where problems are solved (or not) through the power of interpretive dance, the main character is the aforementioned duck (maybe a duck?), and the author has a horrible, horrible lack of respect for the fourth wall. Fortunately it's double-glazed.

And it somehow manages to be awesome.

I can also recommend Twin Spica, which unfortunately ends in the middle of the story (20 episodes.. they'd need a hundred, near as I can tell), but you can read the manga for the continuation. It's a nice, highly realistic story about a girl who wants to be an astronaut; set in current times.

And then there's Durarara. Just.. Durarara. I've got no idea how to describe that, and it leaves my jaw hanging every five minutes. It's made by the guys who did Baccano, if anyone's seen that.
