i can count series with good dubs with my fingers without using babylonian methods

they take far more effort to pull off and nobody has this much effort to spare

Because some anime (like Hellsing and SnK) takes place in an explicitly not-Japanese location? Because I like to be able to listen to things in my native language? Because the stereotypical really shitty dubs are mostly a thing of the past now?

Besides, Hellsing already has an English dub. And a German dub. And a Russian dub. And whatever dub you need, I suspect.

I know that Hellsing has an English dub, and its a pretty good one. I was just using it as an example of "anime set in a place that is explicitly not Japan or anywhere else in Asia"

That sounds pretty cool, although it would probably expose how little the writers actually thought about whether a language barrier exists.

I'm watching Total Eclipse right now....  Mecha versus stupid unstoppable aliens.  It could be better, except for the fact that it focuses too much on the grating romance build-up and the main guy is going to be so damn awesome later on angle. 
First two episodes actually make a good build-up to the entire series.  Everything after, is when it starts to go downhill when they decide that they need a guy to be the main character and the love interest.

Total Eclipse actually has a shocking amount of male characters compared to the harem that is Alternative.

MuvLuv Alternative: Total Eclipse is a spin-off series of MuvLuv Alternative that takes place a bit before Takeru arrives.

I don't think watching Total Eclipse first is a very good idea.

And also incredibly badass, but we knew that already. Those acrobatics she pulled off during the meatbun chase seems to add more fuel to the theory that theres something weird going on in the background of the setting. Not sure how I'll feel if that turns out to be the case.

The set up of the tournament is sure to bring tons of neat matches, I wonder if there will be rounds focussed around completing certain objectives instead of just pure battle.
