Knowing how X-Com works, though, they would all die pretty quickly though. I guess it would be like an anime version of The Dawns Here Are Quiet, which would be pretty cool.

Sometimes I wonder why many anime even bother with other characters when the main one does everything himself.

I guess it is because they are always the most boring character in the show.

Depends if it is full on Shounen or a more grim anime like Shingeki no Kyojin/Claymore.

Yeah, that's very much a shounen trope, and it doesn't even pop up in every shounen series. Pretty much nothing outside of that actually follows that formula (that is, there is a central protagonist who does everything despite having purportedly competent allies). Claymore is, incidentally, a damned good example of a large cast where most of the characters advance the plot and carry their weight. Hell, two separate child-sidekicks turned into badasses in their own rights, including one who was a completely normal human in a setting full of superpowers and house-sized monsters.

So I checked out this new game that I found in the Nintendo Eshop, Attack of the Friday Monsters. Usually I don't buy new games that I have almost no knowledge of, but I had a good feelings about this one.

And I was right, holy shit is this game just filled to bursting with personality. It's like a Studio Ghibli game, complete with Japanese dubs with English subs.


This is just a very charming experience.
