The guy on the ground. Unless you mean what he looks like and I guess if I had to pick someone would it be Kaiba?

To be fair, Rance looks a lot like Kaiba in Rance 1.

Did any of you guys ever watch that anime Spider Riders? I remember seeing some of it when I was a kid but I turned away from it because of how different it was from the novels. It was actually really bizarre the way they changed it. Though I guess it was a demographics thing since the show was directed at a younger audience. I just suddenly felt like bringing it up.

Sengu Basara has one of the main characters use a spear... but otherwise not really.

Might be sword fighting and exotic weaponry is more popular and shiny.  Even though spears are a bit more prevalent in military history.  Actually, it might be cause of that, spear type weapons are for the unwashed mooks and unskilled commoners who work as statues and serve to die.

Does Vagabond count?  There's a monk guy Musashi fights near the beginning who uses a spear (I THINK it's a spear).

To me it is likely that the Sword is considered the weapon of a hero.

Besides it isn't like spears have it worst off. How many Anime main characters use a mace as their main weapon?

If we count lances as spears then one of the major villains of Kenshin used one and was pretty much unbeatable with it.
