Well, Zero no Tsukaima/Familiar of Zero's concept was genuinely interesting, but it wouldn't explore those concepts by virtue of being an ecchi romantic comedy.

Agreed. I'd just finished the Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail OVA, And DuRaRaRa!! and decided to dive in to the third season of ZNT (which is where I was up to).
And then I stopped. Seems I can't go back below that line of storytelling now.

I managed to watch episodes 3 and 4 of MLA Total Eclipse last night and dude maybe I forgot what anime felt like but it was goooood.  I remember hating the first two episodes.  Maybe Battler and Kyon changed my mind....seriously the two main male characters are Daisuke Ono and Tomokazu Sugita.  That's amazing.

I guess I'll give that a shot, but I'll be comparing it to Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls, which is definitely the battle/ecchi/harem show with the coolest art style.

I'm about halfway through an anime called Rideback that I'm liking so far.  I started watching it after reading this hilarious premise:

In a future world where an organization called the GGP has taken control of the world, Rin Ogata was a promising up-and-coming ballet dancer, but suffered a serious injury and decided to quit. Years later in college she comes across a club building and soon finds herself intrigued by a transforming motorcycle like vehicle called a Rideback. She discovers that her unique ballet skills with balance and finesse make her a born natural on a Rideback. However, those same skills also get her into serious trouble with the government.

Turned out to be surprisingly not terrible.  Still have 6 episodes to go though, so maybe it gets worse. 

Bah, ending was garbage.

Why the heck do they have to spoil so many decent animes by making the main character get magic powers through the power of belief/friendship/love/courage.  Its a total cop out of an ending.

though i struggle to call even the beginning "decent". thought it was boring all the way through. didn't even seem to know what it was trying to do.

I really like 11eye's OP.  The VN isn't fully translated but the free trial is fully translated.  Although I would recommend playing the Aiyoku no Eustia trial instead...

Damn, shame to hear the 11eyes game isn't fully translated, that's one I actually did have interest in checking out.

Was looking for something to watch, and found out "wait, wait Arakawa Under The Bridge has a second season??, plus, the people who panned season 1 for using repetitive character gags, gave season 2 great reviews??" Ok, so i'm watching that now.

Ok I have to ask... are some of these screens bad translations?

Because the MLA Total Eclypse seems more like it just added random swearing because the japanese character swore.

(Apperantly swearing is a rather iffy subject in translation especially since they don't have the same meanings or strength)

I find it a bit more weird when the fan translation, that is not that good, is better then the official translation.

Or better yet... when the ENGLISH DOESN'T MATCH ITS OWN SUBTITLES! Dang it EVERY game in the universe!
