I finished route A and AA of Chaos;Head and also finished the Bokurano manga.

The Bokurano manga was pretty good.  Although it's not my biggest thing ever.  I found other works by the same author which look interesting too.

Depressing.

Very depressing.  The ending is not satisfying in the least.  I know tragedies can have satisfying endings too because Fate/zero has one.  So there could have been something.  I liked it but I always felt pieces were being cut out a lot.  The characterization was impressive at least.


I liked Kako.  He was the only pilot who didn't kill the enemy in battle.


Gotta love Kanji.  I was happy he made it to the very end.  His fight was very NGE too.


Kako psychological zone.  Thanks sister.


This guy...just kind of disappears after leaving the military confinement.  Woo.


Ushiro wearing Kanji's jacket at the end was pretty good.

Maki's Dad was so weird.  Maki was pretty cool.


Machi's death was really sudden and I didn't like it.  :\


Ushiro's (and the manga's) final battle was nuts.


Yeah.  It was cool but again, it felt...short?  I don't know.

Anyway the big one.  I was going to hold off until I announced my completion of route B for Chaos;Head too but...IT'S NOT WORKING.  Like in Remember11 I can't get the damn ending(s) to trigger and I really don't feel like restarting the entire game again when I got every flag perfectly for it.  I even started a new game after A & AA and everything!

Chapter 9 was really cool.  Chapter 10 ended too quickly and I felt really unsettled.  It was still cool, but after reading for 30 hours you could at least expand on what you did well...I mean a lot of characters just didn't matter at that point when there was a cool thing going.

Hazuki and Suwa just get butchered.  Kozue is freaky but nothing happens.  Nanami, Ayase, Yua, and Momose do nothing.

They really really really really needed to give Hazuki and Suwa a much deeper plot.  The fact they're the ones doing the 'New-Gen' murders is completely brushed over.  By this point it felt they just wanted to end the game.  In reality they should have FOCUSED on this point.  It's really sad.  People play murder mystery games so they actually learn how the murders happened in large detail.

Norose and Takumi had a cool face off at least.

This scene felt really bad.  If it was like five times expanded that would have been great.  After hours and hours of reading it just gets cleaned up.


I'm pretty sure this is the only time Kozue uses that sprite, sigh.  It's also never explained really.  Brush it off man!

Yeah.  This scene was great.  Get to hear a BGM we never hear anywhere else too!  Yay!

Took a break from western animation and tried out Angel Beats!


1/3 sappy, 1/3 unfunny comedy, 1/3 legitimately emotional. A bit disappointed, but the latter third at least made watching worthwhile.

Also this is perhaps the first time ever I was hoping for a crushing downer ending. The unbridled optimism got to me after a while, in a bad way. Thankfully the end is ambiguous enough I can imagine the main character is stuck there for eternity, which he wholly does not deserve but dammit people need consequences for their actions rather than everything universally turning out okay in the end. Even the tragic backstories weren't the fault of any of the characters. No mistakes have any weight whatsoever.

Yeah, I don't get how Glasses-guy-wotizname managed to free himself from those soul eating shadows and ascend to a higher plane of existence. However, that anime was rushed (it wasn't meant to be 12-episodes only), so I gave it a break. But yeah, there's a lot of GLARING plot holes in that anime, and what little episode time it had was mostly used up comedy segments.

And yeah, a lot of their actions had no consequence, and if it did, it was easily treated with almost no losses on their part.

Watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. It counts close enough for anime right?
It definitely picks up steam the further in it goes so far, and the finale for Book 1 was suitably a step up in intensity.

My only real gripe with it so far is that some of the scenes (especially emotional ones) can feel a bit rushed, like you know the necessary silence seconds were cut out to try and fit more into each episode.

Currently watching most everything from the current season. Standout shows that I'm enjoying above the others include, Hyouka, Aquarion Evol, Sankarea, Tasogare Otome x Amnesia, Space Brothers, and Upotte!! because I'm a bad person and it makes me laugh.

**sigh** I really should reload my game and get back to it, problem with SR is that as much as I love the game I still haven't beaten it once. I usually get around 15 or so territories in and then end up losing my drive to play after marathoning it for a few days. Then when I inevitably go back to the game, I load my save, stare at things and wonder what I was doing, exit out to the main menu and start a new game...

Well I am in the 100s in Prince of Tennis and I am starting to sort of warm up to the series a bit more. Some stuff still bugs me but most of the other issues I've had are going away.

I think what it could be is that the battles are starting to become more dynamic with a lot more twists and turns... when earlier it was all about them using what you already knew they had.
