I think this might just be my computer, a pretty old IBM Thinkpad laptop, but whenever I'm in any menu, or if I am using the X cursor to do anything it moves way too fast! I have to be really careful not too press it too hard or anything, or else it moves twice or three times farther than I wanted it to.
If anybody has any suggestions, please tell me. It is ridiculously annoying.

There're an option in the init.txt file, it's the KEY_HOLD_MS, I believe. Hope that helps!

This. Increase the value of it. Originally it's KEY_HOLD_MS:150, so change it to KEY_HOLD_MS:200 for example. Play around with more numbers if the 200 is not working perfectly for you.

Nah..not really...but maybe because I have a quite good computer + 2x Western Digital Raptor-X HDDs.
