 I don't either, but thankfully there is always a counter for it.

 I assume it is because there no gore to speak of in those games. Friends and foe disintegrate into exp particles upon death and wounds are merely large numbers in a pool of freakishly large pool of numbers. Thus Monty Python limb-chopping would be impossible.
